As one of the 5 sane people watching this I will say. Honestly I main DHIL since 1.3 and the combo Sparkle + Sunday is really good with some speedtuning though you can reach a point in the run where you do not have enough SP or the first turn can be hard if you do not have Sunday S1, E2 or E2S1. Cuz yes I get that powercreep can't really be avoided entirely especially in a gacha environment, but that thing that makes it more digestible is making it so the new character is someone that can stand with their own mechanics, not mechanics that makes them BETTER than the former. depends on what you're trying to achieve really. as a qingque main i appreciate the 3 extra max sp, i appreciate the influx of crit damage, i like that she's as pretty as hu tao even though they look NOTHING alike. sunday is more for characters that actually need buffs like topaz or jing yuan because they're trash. even now with sunday his best in slot dps' are still not breaching the top 3 best dps' in the game, nor are they good for the current MOC. i personally run both atp but i prefer hu ta- i mean sparkle because i've had her since 1.3 i mean since she looks like hu ta- i mean because she buffs qingque better

The only reason why I think people say that Sparkle has fallen off is because she’s a lot more of a generalist than Sunday is. In most Gacha games it’s a lot better for a unit survivability to be very good at one specific thing than being able to do a lot of things but not being able to do any of them well. Sunday’s kit is extremely good for two characters (Jing Yuan and DPS Lingsha) compared to Sparkle who is very solid for everyone but is pretty replaceable in most teams. Sunday also has a better vertical investment than her, his E1 E2 and E6 are all very good. Hers are just kind of okay in comparison. By the way, I also think you’re kind of undervaluing Lingsha’s performance as a DPS. Since she’s a healer with a lot of AOE attacks she actually makes a very good debt collector for Jade. And since she’s a healer that means you’re able to use a second Harmony like Robin. She also has follow-ups in her kit which means more stacks for Jade and more energy for Robin. Jade’s attacks also give more energy to Robin who just allows the team to act again and Sunday allows all of this to happen because he makes Lingsha a really good DPS

Ima say this and leave it. All supports are good. All of them have their uses and bis slot teams. The use cases of some over others can be at times preferential or definitively one over the other. But what makes you choose support a over support b is the dps. The last couple of dps characters have had and overwhelming jump in power when compared to ratio, one of if not the best as of 2.0 back when hyper carry was be all end all. Mei was an amazing step up and brought a whole slew of comps, making dual dps more accessible. Sparkle released soon after and made hyper carry even stronger, which was still the most prevelent dps comp at the time. Acheron released and she single handedly change the benchmark for dps. The debate on if she would remain the only one to hit the ceiling she made was active untill FF came out. Both were monsters compared to the old hypercarry dps and both had their own type of comps which were incompatible with old hyper carrry supports. Acheron developed her on hypercarry, one that had a goal in mind aside from just buffing. Ff made break relevent and the new meta, solidifying mei and hmc's position. Robin came out and made fua comps a practical team rather than just topaz with ratio. She brought fua up and dabbled into other comps with how her buffs were given. Both her and mei had seats in the best comps to use while also having them in other not as top tier comps as well. Feixaio came out and made the fua comp even better, the comp that works fantastic with robin, the comp that works great with mei, the comp that sees a fall off in performance if done has hypercarry(less sources of dmg since just feixiao). The last pure hypercarry dps to come out is ratio, while still amazing he and the comp are outclassed by the amazing cohesion the units of break and fua have with each other. The point is that all harmonys are good, even the hypercarry focused ones, but they have yet to be given their FF. Jing yuan gets buffed by having new relics or supports, well bronya and sparkle will get buffed by having their own FF. Their kits are still strong and amazing, they just dont see usage because of the dps of various comps being bis for that content. And they bring their whole band there. When was the last time dhil wouldve been great, or jingliu? The content has favored fire and lighting more, now with feixio wind. Tldr: hypercarry harmonys have not seen a use case as their bis dps has not had one as opposed to break, fua, and acheron comps. They are still viable but have not been given a dps to show it

To add to this since jiao, boothil and yunli were not mentioned. People skiped jiao cuz he is not a women, that just the general target audience preference. Because of that his utility outside of acheron comps is overlooked, his uptime is always, his dmg non-negligible, and the support his gives is amazing. He is pela plus put simply and no one disses pela. Boothil is not FF, so people gravitate towards him less. But he has just as good dps potential but requires more set up. FF is easier to play so he is overlooked. Also phys weakness is not as common, making it potentially more difficult for him. Yunli follows the same idea as boothil. She works great as a hypercarry with sparkle, especially since yunli is more greedy on buffing than say feixaio. She is not as easy to play and is overlooked because of it. Even tho she fits just great in both fua and hypercarry comps, something feixaio can do but easier. Rappa is not FF, so she is overlooked despite being better in pf, and competitive to FF in moc and apoc shadow. She is more flexible than FF in that she is not necessarily the sole dps focus. She can work with boothil to make the enemies stay broken for longer, delay with boothil ult and save on sp by not needing to use his E again. Tldr:boothil rappa good, not FF so ignore. Boothil jiao not women, so ignore Boothil yunli not as easy to play so ignore. They are unfortunately overlooked by the other supporters and dps despite being perfectly serviceable and stronger than older dps.

Now, some cringe betas might argue that "sunday has energy regen and his action advance is 100% while bringing a summon". To that absolute blasphemy, you simply should say "u lyin". His energy regen is actually a history fictionologists myth, it is not true. 50% upbring is ofcourse more efficient than 100%, you just need to do the math.
