I thought she was too sharp on this tune, but her studio performance in 2008 is awesome and way more intimit; would guess acoustics played a part too. I think Adele has one of the most beautiful voices ever, but this is Etta's song hands down.

We are family friends of her family. She had been CHRONICALLY ILL for the last 7 years of her life. She suffered from Dementia, for the last two years of her life among other illnesses. It's sad when people attempt o talk about what they don't know.

This is better than her 2008 recording, but STILL she is TERRIBLE on this great old song -- scratchy, and not even quite on pitch on some notes, and her falsetto is way off. Don't see how she got as far as she is now (2017) unless she learned how to sing since then. At 1:32-35, she sounds like she's in labor and trying to deliver a kid and at 2:23-25, same thing! Her voice is raspy like her idol, Etta James was due to drugs and constant smoking, which ruined her vocal cords and singing. Today, singers just CAN NOT sing a tune straight the way the tune was written and they RUIN IT with all their meanderings around the note -- awful!
