Tears rolling down my cheeks, I can't believe this. It's so beautiful. The chorus says, "We were scared of getting old, it made us restless" until the last one which says "Oh I'm so mad I'm getting old, it makes me reckless". She's coming to terms with the fact that the shared feeling is no longer there since the person she was sharing it with is no longer with her. It's so subtle and just amazing.

This song made me cry. God, I miss my childhood so much. The faces, the smells, the views... Everything was with different light, different colours. So bright, so naive and beautiful. Well I'm ''just''' 26 but I'm feeling like the best part of my life is already behind me. It's so sad. God. Can't stop crying.

Strange feeling isn't it, felt the same way the first time I heard the song, not that I didn't realise but really makes me think my past is and will always be my past, I can't go back but forward, and all those wonderful moments will always remain as just memories. Truly one of her best songs, really takes me back on a time trip of my life and the carelessness felt but growing up! Well done Adele "25" is a stunning record.

starts at 0:41 Everybody loves the things you do From the way you talk to the way you move Everybody here is watching you 'Cause you feel like home You're like a dream come true But if by chance you're here alone Can I have a moment before I go? 'Cause I've been by myself all night long Hoping you're someone I used to know You look like a movie You sound like a song My God, this reminds me Of when we were young Let me photograph you in this light In case it is the last time That we might be exactly like we were Before we realized We were sad of getting old It made us restless It was just like a movie It was just like a song I was so scared to face my fears Nobody told me that you'd be here And I swear you moved overseas That's what you said, when you left me You still look like a movie You still sound like a song My God, this reminds me Of when we were young Let me photograph you in this light In case it is the last time That we might be exactly like we were Before we realized We were sad of getting old It made us restless It was just like a movie It was just like a song When we were young [4x] It's hard to admit that Everything just takes me back To when you were there To when you were there And a part of me keeps holding on Just in case it hasn't gone I guess I still care Do you still care? It was just like a movie It was just like a song My God, this reminds me Of when we were young When we were young [4x] Let me photograph you in this light In case it is the last time That we might be exactly like we were Before we realized We were sad of getting old It made us restless Oh I'm so mad I'm getting old It makes me reckless It was just like a movie It was just like a song When we were young ❤

That high note! I've always loved her but holy shit I didn't realise she had that range.
@rushofblood9949 жыл бұрын
+Patrik Radelj it's more the strength and the depth of tone in her voice which makes her a great singer, not the number of octaves. I just didn't know she could hit a note like that, her range in 19 and 21 wouldn't suggest she could. And even when Hello came out I thought she was scraping at the top of her range. So when she belted that note in this song I was really shocked.
@miike21129 жыл бұрын
+Alistair Brennan I'm pretty sure I read in a recent interview her new higher range has something to do with her vocal cord surgery back in the 21 era. She also quit smoking so maybe that has something to do with it? But that belt gave me life! All praise ADELE!
@SilentAssassin012349 жыл бұрын
Why are people saying this note is the highest she has ever done, it isn't. I hear a D5 which can be heard in multiple other songs of hers: i.e. One and Only or her cover of Fool That I Am. The highest mixed voice note I have heard Adele sing is an E5/Eb5 in Someone Like You. Hello goes up to a B4 in chest/mix and a G5 in falsetto (which isn't staggering considering most baritones can hit that note.) But anyway, she is starting explore her range more which is good to see. But no matter what, her tone is everything :3

'Cause I've been by myself all night long Hoping you're someone I used to know You look like a movie You sound like a song My God, this reminds me Of when we were young Let me photograph you in this light In case it is the last time That we might be exactly like we were Before we realized We were sad of getting old It made us restless It was just like a movie It was just like a song I was so scared to face my fears Nobody told me that you'd be here And I swear you moved overseas That's what you said, when you left me You still look like a movie You still sound like a song My God, this reminds me Of when we were young Let me photograph you in this light In case it is the last time That we might be exactly like we were Before we realized We were sad of getting old It made us restless It was just like a movie It was just like a song When we were young When we were young When we were young When we were young It's hard to admit that Everything just takes me back To when you were there To when you were there And a part of me keeps holding on Just in case it hasn't gone I guess I still care Do you still care? It was just like a movie It was just like a song My God, this reminds me Of when we were young When we were young When we were young When we were young When we were young Let me photograph you in this light In case it is the last time That we might be exactly like we were Before we realized We were sad of getting old It made us restless Oh, I'm so mad I'm getting old It makes me reckless It was just like a movie It was just like a song When we were young

@@bernardosaraiva8255 I have to admit I disliked his voice I found his technique completly wrong his projection was using emotion wich is unhealthy a song with emotion 100% infact oviouslynit makes one song go from great to unbelievable but it shouldnt overshadow the technique. That is how you sing a song. In the last verse she adds "Oh I'm so mad I'm getting old It makes me reckless." I'm 73 and never felt any older than I did at 30. Never really expected to live past 21. I turned 21 in Vietnam. Spent another 27 years in the Army after a 5 year break from that tour. Age has always been just a number. When I was 66 I was diagnosed with cancer and started a new journey. Worked through the radiation and chemo. Didn't really think much about it. The surgery ended up with me not being able to use my right trapezius muscle. So my right side of my neck is disfigured. Didn't really matter to me. The cancer went away for about 6 months. I weighed 230 and worked out 5 days a week fairly heavy on the weights. Then it came back in my AP window. That started another bout of radiation and chemo, no surgery because of where it is. I lost 60 pounds and continued to work out but with very light weights. They switched chemo drugs on me and I lost 15 more pounds and got scared for the first time. It was then I looked into the mirror and didn't recognize the person staring back. It was the first time I ever felt old. I was 72. They have changed my chemo drugs and I have gained weight back from 158 all the way up to 175. I hope to some day reach 180. I'm retired now and I love this song. Always have. I like most of her stuff, but a couple really send a message. I appreciate her "Take it Easy on me." But this is my favorite. Usually listen to Allman Brothers, or Eric Church and other Rock and Country singers. But Adele is a special talent. I am grateful for her talents.
@janalalewicz73852 жыл бұрын
Well sir I am grateful for YOU!❤️ I'm grateful for your service OF COURSE but I think I'm even MORE GRATEFUL for your touching,honest,heartfelt message. I too am beginning to feel the looming specter of old-age and somewhat a sense of mortality. I just turned 60 but my mind still feels young. My mind says "whoa! Where the hell did YOU come from?!" When I look in the mirror these days....but not every day. Gratitude. I think that's truly the key. Best of luck and a long life to you,my friend. A VERY VERY long life to you!🥰

Sooo true!! It breaks your heart then her emotion in her vocals gives us strength to go forward...her voice, when I hear it conjures up pictures and flashbacks of all sorts of struggles of holding onto something that just wasn’t there, wanting to give up but not being able to let go of an unhealthy relationship or an unavailable person whom you chase after hoping the result will be different, trying not to manipulate a situation but you just can’t let it go while knowing you should. I get flashes of different men I “thought” I loved but had no idea or concept that love isn’t one sided.

The Church Studios is a studio (shocker) in London that (wait for it) is half of a renovated Church. While the church itself has been around since the 1850s, the studio end didn't come into prominence until about 1984. Dave Stewart and Annie Lennox (who make up the musical duo The Eurythmics) were renting the upstairs Church room to lay down some tracks, and eventually converted it into a full blown recording studio. It was there that they recorded their hit album Sweet Dreams, and, from that point forward, The Church Studios became an iconic place for artists to let the music flow.

The studios are in Crouch End where I used to live (I still live in the borough). I used to walk past the studios with my mum when I was going to infant school. Before the Eurythmics recorded there, the studios were used to film Trumpton, Chigley and Camberwick Green. U2 used recently to finish their latest album and Bob Dylan recorded their in the 80s.

Ok I wasn't going to comment since there where so many and I very rarely comment anyway but reading through some I had to. First off I'm not a young man anymore... "60" 1955. I enjoyed listening to Adele since I first heard her on the radio and wondered who she was. When I just heard this song for the first time... 5-6 times in a row. I was like wow. I have been married to the same woman the past 32 years "I better get this right" with the usual up's and down's of being a retired military husband and wife that I lost count of the meaningless arguments over the years "We could have made a movie, It was just like a song". They say music is the key to your soul. I know... there's a bunch of others. anyway this song opened my eyes and I thought to myself... wow, this is us. Finally. a song how I feel. I think I'm more in love with my wife than any time or song "Remember When - by Allen Jackson" previous. Again... to me it was moving. I don't know what some of you mean by your comments. I don't know adele's personal life. I do know when someone's music, voice touches my soul and bleeds talent, I can feel it, Not enough words to explain it. Not going to go into what I liked or disliked about it. This is not the place. I enjoyed it from the run up to the end... The very end. she seems real to me. For some of these comments, I think you have hearing problems, had a crappy upbringing, or hate life yourself. I listen to alot of music on here now thanks to youtube from all over the world now. The best thing since broadband. To you haters... open your ears, listen, love...

She is a real artist, she is not a fake artist, who depends on the autotune to believe that she is a celebrity. She is a natural celebrity and without much effort.

So if you use autotune then you’re automatically bad?
@walkerslsx3 жыл бұрын
@@hadron4834 20 years ago it might not matter, but these days we audience are wonderfully spoiled - we have so many talents being discovered early and given a chance to shine. We only have so much time in life for enjoying music, why be politically correct about it all? An opinion that you think would hurt them, might actually become part of the motivation that make them terrifically good years later. Just leave an honest opinion and turn off notifications about it. We already know autotuning equipment *can* be good and the practice of tuning specifically to a singer's voice is a "technical art" in itself. But unless they name the tuner and give them credit, I won't praise any piece with that sort of practice involved.

From the minute I heard this song I instantly fell in love with it. There's just something so magical about the whole composition of it... I even like it more when she sings it live, you can really hear the rawness and emotion that she carries in her voice. Can you believe she sold 3.3 million copies of "25" in the US this week? Well deserved, Adele. Please never stop making music because you're a rarity in today's music industry. Anyway, I did a cover of this song over on my channel, I accompanied myself on the piano as well. I'll obviously never be able to sing it as well as Adele but it would mean a lot if you checked it out and let me know how I did! :)
