Adenoid Removal & Ear Tube Insertion for Kids

I’ve had (and will have in 11 days) all my ear tubes placed under general anesthesia. All were placed as an adult and done in the OR by choice because I cannot sit still during uncomfortable procedures. I would never let a doctor place or remove tubes awake. I hope this doctor gives adults the option to go to the OR.

I got this when I was young, and was told they would come out on their own. But after 10ish years they never did, and water always gets in my head. Eventually I got them removed.. But now I'm a professional scuba diver, and my head is always full of water and ears throbbing (maybe hearing my heart beat). I'm wondering if there is still a hole from the tubes that is letting water in.

Hi Dr Thomas does adenoidectomy surgery cause otosclerosis when the child becomes an adult? Especially if the doctor has me now go see a neuro-otologist for a Stapedotomy or a Stapedectomy. I was the kid that had the adenoidectomy as a kid. But just curious. It gives me vertigo sometimes and we did the bppv testing. It is only on the left side. Right ear is strong.
