You did well pronouncing all of these! The Star Trek DS9 references make me so happy! ❤ With items like this, the price is very reflective of how much it costs to make something like this, which is unfortunately very expensive. With the two rainbow pans, I’ve found that they work best individually, only swiping along one side for a whole pan mixed together effect when wanted, and leaving the rest of the pan to carefully dip into each shade individually. The best/only way to get a rainbow look on the eye is probably to apply each shade in horizontal sections across the eye, blending them into each other a little as you go. Not easy and not ideal, but that would be stunning. Maybe starting with the iridescent pink (or whichever shade you wanted) in the inner corner fading into the deeper colors in sequence across the lid. (I don’t know if anyone will care, but here’s what the names mean: Ketracel White is actually a highly addictive drug. The Jem Hadar are a soldier race addicted to it. The Founders are a shift-shaping race who the Jem Hadar serve and practically worship because The Founders provide Ketracel White to them. The Vorta are ambassadors who represent The Founders and communicate for them. The Dominion is the political name for The Founder’s Empire. Even the black eyeliner shade, Terok Nor, is the Cardassian name for the Deep Space Nine space station, where the whole TV series is focused. The station is Federation controlled (the organization humans/Earth are a part of) and is at the opening of a wormhole the connects the Alpha Quadrant, where Earth is, to the Gamma Quadrant, where the Dominion is. All the eyeliner shades are also Star Trek references! 😊)

You didn't butcher Jem Hadar, you said it perfectly! 😊 I didn't buy this in presale because I had concerns about how they could call these multichromes when I couldn't see any shifts. I've since found out that the creams are multichromes with slight shifts and the iridescent rainbow has 1 multichrome stripe out of the 5 and the rainbow has 2 multichrome stripes of the 5. This did nothing to relieve my concerns with the $68 pricetag. I would love to own the creams and I wish I could buy the pans individually. I don't care for the rainbow highlighters. I bought a eyeshadow size rainbow highlighter from Sugar Drizzle and each individual stripe color shifts, unlike most of these. It's also small enough that I can swipe across and pick up the whole rainbow to use on my cheeks or eyes. It looks so cool! But these pans are so big you can't swipe across and have it be usable on your face. The most you can get is 2 colors before it's too tall for hl or shadow. So the only way to use them is individually, and most don't have any shift, or swirl it like you did. I love the concept if each stripe shifted in color so I think if I don't get this I'm going to buy a rainbow highlighter from Bitter Lace Beauty who sells both the black based and iridescent rainbows, but each stripe is a multichrome and they are only around $25 each. I have 3 hours to decide whether getting those creams are worth $68 to me. I have never skipped an Adept palette before ever since I first bought the OG Plain Jane plus I have been a Star Trek superfan since the 90's. The fomo is almost killing me. But I just bought the Electrum hl palette the other day and I have the BB, BBB, and SD ones too. I love iridescent shades and use them on my eyes all the time. So I know I'm going to be fine skipping this if I can resist it. I think I can, especially now that I've seen your review. Thank you for being honest! It's helped me tremendously!

Also, I know this is technically a face palette but since the description says it can be used on the eyes can you please include this in your rankings or do a follow up for it later. I'm very curious whether your opinion will change after you've had more time to play with it. They said they will restock it later in the year so if you decide you like it after all it's something I know I can get later.

So glad you posted this video. I stared at the notification email and early listing for a few minutes because the palette looks so intriguing. But the ingredient list worried me. The list concerned me that the creams on my face may well cause milia or acne and on my eyelids they may not stay put. Lots of butters and emollients. And your video shows the only way i could use the powders is as tiny individual color stripes because the olive-dark gold that results from Dominion being swirled is unflattering on my cool pink toned light skin. I loved seeing you in action, as always Steff, and always respect and value your opinion.

It's beautiful but I could never afford the highlighter palette. Actually if I'm being honest 4 shades for 67$. I think it's way expensive. But that's just me. One thing on the rainbow shades that I didn't see mentioned was that there are flecks of holographic glitter in them. That was a surprise for me. I also was surprised that the comment was that there was no glitter? They are extremely glittery...

I bought this highlighter palette because I LOVE Adept! I watched Heather Austin’s video and she used the separate rainbow shades as eyeshadows and others as highlighters. Just a different take on the palette I thought you might be interested in. I’m sure you didn’t watch other videos before reviewing the product, but I liked the way she used it. Just an FYI.

I usually buy all of Adepts new releases but I don't wear highlighters and they look too subtle on the eyes so I wouldn't get my money's worth. Can definitely see who this was made for though, like customers that said some of their shades were too much. This would be a perfect match for them.

Steff, you make everything look beautiful. I think I’ll pass on this one though- I don’t feel like the payoff is enough to justify the price, and for $68, I would expect a little more multichrome goodness. And realistically, I would get it and not want to use it to preserve the pretty pans!

Thank you so much. You literally did everything I wanted to see, other than a close-up of the powder shadows after being swirled. My plan for the powders is to have it as my dedicated universal inner conner palette using my tiniest brush so I only pick up certain colors - literally every color for any look! And I'm so happy that these creams look so good - thanks again for that! In my eyes this palette is 10 individual Multichrome/iridescent shadows plus the 2 cream highlighters (and once again, thanks to this video I'm excited to wear these as shadows too) plus the bonus 3 colors when you mix the 2 powders within themselves and the 2 creams! I think that justifies the price! 😅

Hallo Steff, thank you for demonstrating this and showing how they look on the skin. Does look pretty , the darker ones I feel look better on the eye too. I can tell this isn't going to be for me, but they are very pretty. On another note my favorite under the brow for a shimmer look is toy alien by kaja. Something is off with this palette. I think first would be that I didn't look at it and immediately get excited. Second the price doesn't match the product. I'd pay $68 if it was visually stunning and great quality but with this one, not really. Also those swatches were underwhelming and didn't get me excited. Oh well, I wish Adept well though for trying something different or maybe fun??? I really enjoy new product releases even if the product wasn't for me.

This is a multi-use palette and while one method is to blend all the rainbow shades, they can also be used individually to create amazing eye looks! Just use a small enough brush. :)

I'm not a massive fan of highlighters and the ones I do use are of the cream formula in the more natural glowy skin (almost a clear sheen that could be worn by all skintones) finish. I'm just never going to wear rainbow or pastel toned highlighters. Much love ❤️💗❤️💗❤️

Hmm. It's a nice release, but not for me. The Highlighters look very blinding, a bit much for me. Yet on the eyes they looked quite subtle, which is also not for me. The price is high, although I do see why. I think there's definitely an audience for this, and they will probably love it, but it's an easy pass for me. Thanks for the review, very entertaining video as always.

I feel slightly underwhelmed by this palette. I don't feel like it brings enough new to the table as highlighters - except for the one that's too dark for me. It's an easy pass for me. Good idea using it on the eyes though! 👍

Yeah, I could definitely pass on this palette. While it is beautiful, it just wouldn’t be worth it for me. I would be able to use the first cream shade as a highlight, but the peachy shade looks like it might be a tad too dark and the wrong color for my super fair, cool skin tone. The rainbow shades are so gorgeous but I’d want to use them separately, not swirled together, and I feel like it would be difficult to be able to pick up each shade individually without getting other colors mixed into it or making a mess. I would also use it only as a companion palette. I hardly ever do that. And I don’t want to pay that much for something I may or may not be using and truly enjoying! I have my eyes on the Unearthly Don’t Be Jelly palette which is only $60 and SO much more my speed!!
