Millenials will forever remember going to school and counting down the clock all day to get home and play games like Fallout 3 or New Vegas. And us mid 80s and early 90s boys would go to school and clock watch all day waiting to get home to switch on the SNES and play Super Metroid. And I swear to god, I would get home and my mom would be playing it. Shed wake me up to go to school, and she'd play ALL DAY LONG. I remember that I played this with my dad over a year ago. He and I don’t have a lot in common and we’d barely ever spend any father and son time together. Before I left to where I am now, he got an emulator and we booted up Super Metroid, a game he played on the SNES when he was in his 20s. We hooked up an old PS3 controller from my childhood and over time we did a full play through. Super Metroid is just such a good game and I have so many fond memories of those times. It was one of the few times my father and I have truly bonded like that and hearing this tune at the end of Optimus videos brings back those memories. We may not have a lot of things in common nor do we get to spend a lot of time together but I still love you, dad!!!
