The Dreads needed the +2 movement on their data sheets.
@MrJWrizzleКүн бұрын
I do think this would have been better, to make them useable in every detachment. They could have had a different rule in the Solar spearhead, maybe +2 in advance and charge instead. Still, at least they’re useable in 1 detachment now!

@ I’m not mad at it, and definitely like the options it provides. I just don’t like the “fix” for a bad data sheet being to run it in a niche detachment.

The best thing about the venerable is that it’s the cheapest to buy and it’s in plastic ❤

But on the other hand it’s ugly as fuck and I’m probably going to convert Achillas instead and just put a multi melta on it instead of a spear

And it invalidates an entire shooting or melee armies attacks by just going nah bro im still standing
@im2randomghgh2 күн бұрын
With the Achillus', the extra pile in is more helpful. The mortal wounds can potentially have it kill itself out of range of any targets. Especially if there are walls around. It's flamers are also quite helpful. I would have it tied at 3rd
@HubtownHammer2 күн бұрын
That is true. I wish it was more than a Max of 3 mortal wounds. It will be rare that we kill ourselves out of range. But it is a good option to have if we need that extra movement. A flat 6 like all the other detachments seem to have gotten would be nice. D3+3 means we could need 5" roll a 1 on the die. There goes a CP

I played a few games of SS and I think there’s one thing they could do to make this detachement a bit more viable. Sustained hits 2 for martial Katah. Also I’m just gonna say it. It makes no sense that walking tanks have a worse invul than infantry
@HubtownHammer2 күн бұрын
Sustained 2 on the dreads would be cool. Army wide. I'd just spam 3 Bladechampion/Wardens bricks 3 tanks and chaff. Have fun!!

As you said during the intro to the Telemon, the caestus has base 3 damage, not 2. Adding the Adamantine Talisman brings it to 4 dmg.
@HubtownHammer2 күн бұрын
At least I mentioned the right base damage somewhere, haha. Sorry about that. Telemon Adamantine Talisman part has a few mistakes.
@stephenkotyk3992 күн бұрын
I believe the enhancement still works on the telemon since the fist doesnt give "extra attacks," as in the key word, it adds to the single weapon profile. So the enhancement would target the fist profile and the fist would separately be increasing the attack characteristics of the fist. I could be wrong, and if I am can you send me in the direction to find the FAQ?
@HubtownHammer2 күн бұрын
You are correct. I thought it added the 2 as "Extra Attacks" Strange how it also says add 2 attacks to the Caestus Fist "weapons" I can see why I've had comments saying it had double the attacks.

Great video, I can't wait to try this on table. I think the venerable land raider could fit in this new detachement too. What's your thought ? It would be great if you could make a new custodes tier list post dataslate/detachement
@HubtownHammer2 күн бұрын
The Landraider would make a good option for those without the Grav-tanks. Lascannons hitting on 2+ is still good anti-tank then re-roll hits of 1 when under starting strength Push them up the board grab objectives. Force the enemy to shoot them. Leaving our damage dealers a bit more free reign of the table.

Concerning the telemon casetus fists: As I understand the ability if you equip 2 caestus each of their numbers of attacks goes from 5 to 7 so there would be 14 attacks insted of 10 attacks from the two caestus. With the adamantine talisman each caestus would then have 8 attacks so 16 in total. Have I somethng wrong or has there been a clarification for your interpretation from GW I did not get?
@HubtownHammerКүн бұрын
You can only select one melee profile to attack with. Telemon may have 2 fist weapons, but you can only select one to fight that phase. So the 5 goes to 7 with the 2nd fist equipped from the ability, then 1 more from Adamantine Talisman for a total of 8. Telemon with 16 attacks at str 13. Ap 2 dmg 4 for 240 points would be the absolute best unit in the game, no questions asked If you have been using the Telemon at 14, attacks this the whole time. That is double his allowed attacks.
@simonmayerhofer3977Күн бұрын
@@HubtownHammer ok, thank you. Do you always must use only one weapon in meele or is this something specific to the telemon? I myself can't find anything on the datasheet for the telemon similar to the bladechampion or hazardous shooting weapons where it is stated that you have to choose between one of them for your attack.
@HubtownHammerКүн бұрын
In the App under Battle Round - Fight - Make Melee Attacks. "If a model has more than one melee weapon, it can only use one of them to make Attacks with each time it fights" If things have 2 weapons, it usually adds on a few "Extra" Attacks. But Telemon is an ability that adds the 2 Attacks, making it able to be modified by Adamantine Talisman.

The problem is that the dreadnoughts are still pretty bad. They're stupid fragile and they fold easily
@stephenkotyk3992 күн бұрын
@captaincorundum9788 if this detachment gave them protection from mortal wounds it would be significantly better Whether through the detachment or strat
@humantwist-offcap95142 күн бұрын
2+/4++, -1 damage and an enhancement for FNP… that’s not fragile.
@stephenkotyk3992 күн бұрын
@humantwist-offcap9514 very true, but thats a single model Grey knights, t-sons, new space marines, they can one shot a dread with mortal wounds, especially grey knights since they can teleport for line of sight and 3 can kill a telemon on average before shooting So mortal protection in some form is vital for custodes or else they become super fragile
@HubtownHammer2 күн бұрын
Against those "mortal wounds" armies, I'd argue. Talons have the only real consistent protection from mortals. Shield Host and Auric Champions have a 4+ Feel no pain stratagem(Auric is character only) Against lists who have multiple units who can throw out mortal wounds. The stratagem can only protect so much. The new Grey Knights detachment is going to be having us eat mortal wounds all game throughout our army.
