The description of a soul burning bright in the warp becomes kind of terrifying when taken with the context that Tyranids are a shadow in the warp. They're not Necrons, they have a presence in the warp, but what they have.... it isn't a soul

I think of it like this. “If you peer into this darkness, that emptiness in the void, it will stare back you. I feel like ork souls go back into gork and mork when they die, where they’re chewed up into the great green, then spat back out into a new life, mixed with bits of other ork souls. Like, all orks share the same souls, they’re only distinct because of circumstance. Orks are very Buddhist but with hyper violence. Each is a temporary part of the greater universal gork & mork. In AoS, the two gods fuse and unfuse when they need to, and the warp connects both settings. Makari only remembered past lives once Ghaz “awakened” them with his connection to the great green. They were not the same grot, but platonic Makari exists in the warp, and he sorta Nickelodeon avatar states back to life. Anyway, that’s me being sentimental for my favs.

the tau interaction with the warp is interesting when they get into contact with newly conquered human worlds where witches suddenly no longer get burned because of "silly superstitions" since that research into the warp was not opened to the public lots of quarantined worlds that would come close to a demonworld categorization if imperials got to see them the 4th expansion might also change the probability of tau psychers and force them to see the reality of the world instead of sticking their head in the sand

They are very much aware of reality, it's literally been centuries since they've began seriously expanding into the wider galaxy and have meet and fought against pretty much ALL of the major parties. The only thing we don't know is how do they deal with the psykers amongst their domain, be it the humans or even the other psychic species they've allied with or brought into the fold. I suspect the reason why this part of the lore hasn't been fleshed out much and why the t'au are bizarrely portrayed as being stupidly ignorant of "warp fickery" and psychic powers even though it makes no sense (they had centuries of contact with humans and other species with psykers long before the Damocles crusade happened) is because the t'au might actually provide valid alternatives the Imperium's methods and dare I say put the zealous SPACE religious nutcases in a bad light with the t'au handling things in a more 'humane' manner. (for common 40k standards that is) It is weird how we hear next to nothing about human psykers born within or became apart of the t'au empire(s?). (Farsight's enclaves I'm not sure about) How much longer can writers keep using bullsh*t like the t'au somehow STILL don't know anything about pyskers or the warp even after a stupid amount of time of exposure to such phenomena or events and numerous engagements? (apparently not even the ethereals themselves or other high ranking t'au characters know much, aside from apparently Farsight himself)

While J. That is what differentiates them from other gods. Khain needs worship to survive, Khorne doesn't. There could be something like a greater god of faith that feed on faith itself. But I don't belive that Big E gains anything from the eldars faith in their gods, he gets no power from a nurgle priest holding a cermon or from an Ork krumpin a git in da name of Gork(or maybe Mork). The succ based warp theory in a nutshell: you want coffee but the only shop within 100 miles is a boba shop. You only want the coffee and none of the tapioca pearls (daemons). The problem is, the middle ages didn't experience the kind of death Khorne would truly like regularly. The American Civil War had more regular and HIGH losses of life than most actual battles in the Middle Ages. It was not uncommon for 200 people to die and for an army to surrender back then. For them to lose 50 men and to fall back to try again a week or more later. The American Civil War saw thousands and tens of thousands dying every month. Multiple times it was recorded that blood would be ankle or even knee deep in parts of a battle field. If you look at the number of soldiers America has lost in every conflict after their Civil War, it is LESS than what they lost during their Civil War. WW1 and 2 saw swathes of the countryside completely turned into hell, and yet still doesn't touch that level of bloodshed from the American Civil War. We have this Hollywood image of battle in the Middle Ages, but in reality they never completely destroyed an army. It didn't happen. They would take over half an army prisoner. This kept strong backs available for labor in a region. Were there a lot of injuries and wounds? Very much so! This meant most people died due to bleeding out, infection, and shock. All things Khorne frankly HATES. He wants honorable combat and quick deaths.

I think the Geth analogy is probably a good explanation of the Hive Mind of the Tyranids overall. However, Tyranids are also a little bit more complex, because they DO also have "Queens". "Norn Queens", specifically. They're a BIG brain creature that stays on the Hive Ships; I think each Splinter Fleet has to have at least one to exert synapse control, or everything will revert to instinctive behaviours. Also, Legion is smarter because there's more Geth in him, but bigger 'Nids with "more soul" are smarter because they're just literally bigger-brain creatures, and having "more soul" is a *result* of that, not the cause. It might be rather difficult to tell, though, because greater Tyranid Psyker ability means a greater Synapse connection, and thus access to the TOWERING intellect of the greater Hive of Minds that the network of Norn Queens are.

The chaos gods could have started as little nuggets of congealed ideas, but after the War in Heaven made the warp go from an ocean with a few rough waves to a turbulent shitshow with maybe a few spots of calm, they started gaining energy and emotions, until they gained enough to be self-seficient. With time in the warp being a joke daemons tell each other, it could have happened whenever on that plane, but to the material plane, it happened around certain periods

I kinda hate the interpretation that Khrone was made during the Middle Ages. The cosmic concept of violence really shouldn't give a shit about some backwater planet with barely a billion sentient beings who don't even have real psykers yet.

I've heard theories that the Chaos gods existed even before the war in heaven, some depictions have them as the polor opposites of what they are now while others say they were neither good nor evil simply the embodiment of realities, even slaanesh supposedly existed before the eldar empire fell I'm still new to the lore but A youtuber called weshammer brought this up, even brought up loregaer book, in it apparently there are old scripter & books that worship the dark gods but their description where different they went by names such as Khaane, Tezen, slanat & Narag. I actually really like idea, because it leads to the idea that destroying them or shutting them away only leads destroying reality as we know it it leads to the idea maybe instead of destroying them we must purify them because the only reason they got like this was because the war in heaven and they stay like this because the everlasting war in 40K.
@dimitriosdrossidis96332 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but this is only one possible interpretation. The majority of lore, if In remember, mostly portrays the chaos gods, as beings that use "honor, love, hope, renewal" etc. to lure us in, when in reality they don't care one bit about their followers and are already lost in their desire for more excess. And I doubt, that they are even anywhere near as old as the necrons.
@benjaminhartsock32812 жыл бұрын
@@dimitriosdrossidis9633 The Warp reflects every emotion of every soul, so yeah, Khorne does value honor in battle, and Slaanesh does value love. My theory is that, since *every* emotion is reflected, and since warp entities are inherently hungry for power, rather than having a bunch of gods of Honor or Love running around, soaking that power up, existing warp entities just multiclassed so they could have that power for themselves. So yeah, Slaanesh gets almost as much power from a loving father as she does a devoted S and M slave. Nurgle gets power from a grandparent who accepts death with a smile. Tzeetnch gets power from people who want to change and get better. And Khorne's domains are so intrinsically tied that he gets power from all bloody conflict basically.

I like the theory that there is a heaven in the warp. My version of that theory is by destroying the religions of man that those gods lost power. Add to the fact the other races gods are dead or have less power. Chaos had free rain in the Warp. It adds to the secret deepness that warhammer has. Yeah big E believes religion is the greatest evil but maybe just maybe it's also important and needed. I would love if this theory is true I think it just makes too much sense to have demons and never had something other. That in the grim dark future that all good has died even peace in heaven only leaving war with hell

@zmansoul94502 жыл бұрын
@@Notbatman374 yeah considering how Saint Celestine looks it's clear that they're not really demons. Might be related but clearly not the same. So yeah more reason I believe there is/was a heaven in the warp but with all the grim dark of 40k it's either weaker or dead.

10:34 We really need to teach people more about the middle ages because the fact that people still believe that bull is depressing.
@EVER_PRINCE2 жыл бұрын
My favourite theory for why there are no good warp entities is that every thought and believe Is reflected within the Warp, but magnified, which is confirmed, and that all good beliefs, actions and thoughts are even more good, kind, and peaceful, and as a result, these minor warp entities are instantly jumped onto by the more violent, aggressive and hostile warp entities, wherein they are consumed, and the energy is consumed into the entity that killed it, thereby pushing the characteristics of that entity even further. So bad thoughts in real space -> evil warp entities, and good thoughts -> really good warp entities. Evil and agressive warp entities attack and consume good peaceful warp entities, who use the energy of those they consumed to go from just evil to really evil.

Suction is the pressure of air moving from a place with a higher density of air to a lower density of air, so in a complete vacuum, there reaches a point of maximum suction. In Bricky's Suction Explanation of the Warp, it would imply that suction can continually get stronger, but in reality, suction can only reach the point of a complete vacuum. In 40k, the ability for psykers to draw Warp energy can, in theory, have limitless growth in the amount of energy that can be drawn through a controlled, small hole. It would be more close to saying that the barrier between reality and the warp is like a cellular membrane and demons are bacteria, which will go through if there is a big enough hole, but can't fit through a solid cellular membrane. Meanwhile, the cells can cause active transport of things into the cells by the use of proteins that actively attract things across instead of a passive high to low density exchange.

Khorne COULD NOT possibly be as young as humanity’s Middle Ages, because Slaanesh is THE youngest Chaos God, and it was spawned by the Eldar LOOOONG before humanity itself. So Khorne, Nurgle and Tzeench simply must be far older. It is reasonable to assume they were created during the War in Heaven.

@dungeon_crawlers Жыл бұрын
@@_gherf yes, I’ve learned that since making this post. I was wrong an you are right. However… Don’t you find such chronology a bit illogical? I certainly do. It is said that at it’s apex, the Elder Empire spanned nearly the whole galaxy (so it was at least on par with the Imperium). Yet the Imperium is much, much weaker than humanity before the Age of Strife - at the Apex of Dark Age of Technology. So the question is… Who was in fact the dominant intergalactic superpower? The Elder or the Old Humanity? Because if you are correct, those two have to share roughly the same time. I fail to see how two such unterstellar superpowers could ever peacefully coexist in the Warhammer setting.

@@itaykerensm1629 well they could not care much for humanity… But I cannot fathom how humanity could not care about them. Human nature is the same no matter what age it is, Imperium or no Inmperium. If the eldar resided in literal heaven-worlds, I can not imagine how humanity would just ignore them and NOT want to take those worlds from the eldar. It feels like there was just no way to avoid conflict, given that humans are… humans. But I guess I’m just nit-picking at this point. WH lore is Full of plot holes and contradictions.

The thing with trying to ascend to daemonhood is that not only do you have to commit acts so extreme to warrant the gods attentions but you also have to remember that there are about a million other worshippers trying to do the same thing as you. So you either have to take them out or do something unique compared to everyone else like removing the eyes of every death watch marine you've slain.
