i know everyone has their own opinion of this fight and all of his fights, but to me it looked like silva has come full circle this fight. he realized he was near the end of his career. he had fun in there, regardless of outcome, it was almost like facing a younger huingry version of his former self. what a great fight, was incredible to watch live. (also andersons defense is so fucking incredible, if you watch hes got his hands down and reads izzys kicks before theyre even THROWN. one of if not the highest fight iq fights of all time, and two of the greatest of all time :)

Anderson is so right about how fast people’s opinions about fighters change. Sure Anderson eventually lost the belt and just never was the same afterwards especially the leg break but til this day no one dominated as many times and in the same fashion as Anderson did during his prime and championship run. Khabib mauls with grappling but Anderson was like a magician on the feet compared to his opponents. He even went up in weight and toyed with Ight heavyweights one of them being a former champ Forrest Griffin. Jon Jones and Khabib probably take the GOAT spot just by being undefeated champs but Anderson has got to be the 3rd GOAT if you give him the credit he deserves for his insane middleweight championship win streak plus a couple light heavyweight wins in between.

Adesanya's accent really is peculiar. Sometimes he sounds American but other times you can hear the Kiwi accent coming through. The passing of the torch moment at the end of the fight was so cool as well. Seminal moment in MMA for sure and fitting because I think Adesanya may well be a worthy successor to Anderson

I really wish this fight was 5 rounds. I wonder why they kept it 3 rounds when it got bumped up to main event? Does anybody know or have a possible reason why they wouldn’t change it to 5 rounds? The only thing I can think of is the UFC just being thoughtful for the fighters as they didn’t prepare for a 5 round bout and didn’t want to screw either guys over by making them fight 5 rounds that they didn’t specifically train for?
