Adeva is the woman who put the VOCALS into Vocal House music! No sampling or lip-syncing here. All live, and all talent. That may sound trivial today but at the time it was quite radical in the sample-based world of house and commercial dance music. She really helped to define the sound of dance club culture in the late 80s and early 90s and raised the bar for singers in those genres. I don't think she ever got her dues tbh!

The current NJ House Community has no idea how HUGE these NJ-bred artists and the "Jersey House Sound" was. It was showcased every weekend under DJ Tony Humphries' watch from 1987 to 1990 at Club Zanzibar in Newark, NJ. So many great artists, and so many great songs. I miss this era sooooooo much.

Saw her in Sydney both times she toured. Absolutely loved her. Such amazing energy. The party scene was so amazing back then!! Look at the crowd going off. You wouldn’t see that energy now. People would all stand there holding their phones up.
