26 finally diagnosed with ADHD after years of suspecting. Also PTSD, depression, general anxiety, PMDD. And it's been a long process to get answers and validation. This was very helpful and I love the advice. Thank you.

I recently told my parents of my diagnosis, ADHD and Bipolar type 2. They were so against it and I think due to social stigma. They told me to not say anything about it because it’ll make my life harder and I wouldn’t be able to get a job. They said I couldn’t have ADHD because I finished college. I have a stable career and I’ve been gainfully employed for over a decade. I with the stigma would stop.

We're so sorry that your parents find it difficult to support you. We're proud of you for pursuing a diagnosis and treatment and we hope your parents find a way to be supportive for you but even if they don't you're doing great!

A lot of folks think they have ASD and/or ADHD when it's actually CPTSD!!!

Or both. My Dr. Kept saying cptsd, depression and anxiety.

Those with ADHD are at a higher risk of being abused during childhood. So it seems common that CPTSD and ADHD go together.

Well it’s pretty easy: get tested by a professional and adhd expert. Also if medication works it’s not cptsd. Medication make adhd brains calm and the noise becomes less. Oftentimes we have adhd and because of the sensitivity and how different we are cptsd is much more common for us. Body based trauma therapy always helps in both cases.
