Best shoe of the year. Ran my first half maraton in them. Set 5 K PB. I ran my first marathon in the Endorphine Speed, but should have taken Adios 6, more stable. But the Endorphine Speed is a little faster. I think it can do everything. I really think its the new Boston.

For me this is one of my favourite shoes this year.. I think it’s pretty much what the Boston 10 should have been in terms of stack and purpose. As I’ve alluded to in my reviews, I feel like it’s the type of shoe you can do pretty much any type of run in and works well to cushion impact even as a heavier runner

I honestly think it works optimal for the Heavier runners(85kg+ bodyweight)..these type of runners can more easily put more impact force in order to rip the benefits of the super foam in the front in addition to a lighter runner..

Thanks Kafuzi for reviewing this shoe been hoping you would. I’m up to around 80 miles in mine now and I absolutely love them but for the first 40 miles or so I couldn’t make up my mind if I liked them or hated them. They could feel like the best shoe in my rotation and the worst on the same run but glad I stuck with them because the more miles you put on them the looser and better they get. Be interesting to see if you feel the same when you add more miles to yours. Great in depth video as always. Ian 🇬🇧

I ran my marathon PB in Berlin 2016 in the Adios Boost. Thus, as I test the desire of returning to the Marathon the Adios 6 will be the type of shoe I'll start the journey. Depending on how my body reacts to the training and racing in this shoe I'll decide on dabbling with the Takumi Sen 8/9.

I agree that these feel like a good successor to the Boston 9. I feel that there is more cushioning than the B9 (but firm) and that they are more responsive. These shoes could be used for daily miles but definitely show their true colours when you pick up the pace. In fact, the problem with using them for daily miles is that you would probably end up running at a faster pace than intended. I find them very efficient, so you can pick up the pace without too much effort. I also have the Boston 10, which I really like for long miles but the Adios 6 feels more natural. I have a number of Adidas shoes and always wear a UK9 (apart from the Boston 7 when I had to go half a size up). I first ordered a pair of the Adios 6 in UK9 and found that my toes were right at the end. I switched to a UK9.5 which is much better for me.

Yes, I agree with you that this new outsole is deadening the ride somehow, and I would also say that it's partly responsible for why the Adios 6 does *not* feel like the Boston 9 (with the dual foam also playing a role). I only have 20 miles on mine and really don't like them so far (and I was a fan of the old Adios and Bostons), but I'll keep trying in hopes that wearing down the outsole a little will loosen up the ride some. Unfortunately, the shoe will always have lightstrike in the heel, though, which is my vote for the crappiest foam on the market today. Boost was so much better (as is lightstrike pro, obviously). My love for Adidas has been so abused over the last few years that I may not even try the Takumi Sen 8. (Note: I did a double-take when you said lots of Adidas shoes run a bit long. This is evidently because until a couple years ago they all ran short and everybody complained that they had to size up, so Adidas finally responded by elongating the very tip of their shoes without actually changing the rest of the geometry. It's typical of the slapdash designing of today's Adidas).

4 runs and 40KM so far, and between 5km and MP it feels really good. Slower then that and it feels pretty dead, but stable. I suspect at my slower paces I'm hitting further back and not utilizing the LightStrike Pro. Michael, would you say Adidas's torsion system make them kind of stability shoes? What would be the difference between Asics Gt 2000 system and the one used in Adidas?
@kofuzi3 жыл бұрын
to answer your first question, kind of. Adidas torsion systems started out as a way to prevent excessive torsional twisting. but a few years ago, they morphed into torsion control + plate type systems. so they're stilled called torsion systems, but I think they're more like non-carbon fiber plates. the difference between that and what's in a traditional stability system like the GT2000 is that the GT2000 also utilizes differential foam densities to prevent excessive compression due to overpronation. in other words, some parts of the foam are much stiffer than others. plus, the degree of torsion control is substantially different. and, there are other structural elements in that shoe that prevent the foot from moving/sliding around too much, like rigid elements in the heel cup. I hope that makes sense.

@kofuzi3 жыл бұрын
I don't think you'd want to train in a carbon plated shoe every day, but that has nothing to do with the the carbon, per se (as far as I know, there is nothing in the literature saying carbon plated shoes are detrimental or pose an injury risk). using a carbon plated shoe every day would be like driving only a supercar every day. great for the track. and I suppose you could commute with it to work every day and take it to Ikea and stuff. but it's not always the best tool for the job. different types of shoes exist to cater to different types of runs, like easy runs, recovery runs, workouts, track days, or races.

Great time to buy. CSN can get a$30 discount. Not a lot but it's better then paying full price. It's odd to me tht Adidas would only have 2 running shoes that are like "flats". Thaat there aren't many more models. Focusing on high stack height shoes. Odd Adidas sends certain colour ways to only the odd country. E.g. Adidas Canada only gets the black wtih white or silver or blue 3-strip Adios 6....no white w/ black 3-stripe and orange heel tab...
