I've tried the adios 9 for about a week now. Certainly one of the most fun shoes I've tried ever! It's reminiscent of the rebel v2, v4 and the hyperion 2 but even better. Compared to the rebel, the adios 9 has better energy return and very resilient, not mushy yet it doesn't bottom out. More stable too! Definitely one of the best low stack shoes ever.

This is so refreshing like 191g and 27mm in the heel is more than enough cushion for 10k and 13.1 miles. This could also really be great for workouts as well.

1. Durability with the GCPU compound of the outsole 2. How does it compare to TS10 and Evo SL? will we be getting the TS11 soon (if we ever to belief sources from reddit?) 3. Bottoming out on more than 10km? 4. Is it too soft for road, hence this might be more suitable for track/ripping off treadmill?

I’ve been loving my adios 8s for the past year, have run in them for everything from 400m interval sessions to 30k+ long runs and running a full marathon in them. Somehow I even prefer them for long runs over my Boston 12s. Anyway the 9 looks awesome and I’m getting my pair tomorrow, super excited!

Put in some easy warmup/cooldown miles and a couple quick 2.2km intervals and I was flying in these shoes! Upper is a huge improvement, though I never had issues with the 8 either. I think they'd fare perfectly fine in a half marathon, will be running one in January so will see how they do for it.

These new adidas lineups, are just sooooo aesthetically pleasing! As much as I dislike the company as a whole, their designers are just top notch when it comes to the running department. I can’t wait to pick these up, in a white colorway.

I’m actually very interested in this shoe, I don’t feel like other brands really have competitive options for a low stack short distance race shoe. Between the Takumi and The Adios I am very excited to try these as most of my races are 5k-10k and sometimes feel like I’m missing that low to the ground light and fast feel that I don’t get in 40mm stack carbon race shoes.

This is really exciting. I had high hopes for adios 8 because it looked like such an upgrade from the 6 and 7. But eventually it just didn't work for me one bit. Although the 8s looked a lot more fluid than the 7 in terms of sole profile, they still felt pretty clunky when running. And the stiff tuning of LSP wasn't helping either. Can't wait to try these new ones out, and if they don't work for me again I guess I just don't get along with the adios line of shoes lol

Nice video. Adidas has so many options now. Could you do a top 2/3 type video to cover all bases. For example the boston vs the sl2 vs the evolution vs the adios. so many options now. I was always an adios guy as I liked that low to the ground feeling but now wear the sl2 for most runs.

@quirckybaldguy

Would you say it’s comparable to the Nike Streakfly? Looks like the Streakfly 2 will be much more rigid and agressive (almost like a spike for the road), so a good alternative for a lightweight, flexible, responsive shoe for short intervals would be great and the Adios sounds like it might be exactly that!
@AlexFilitti
@AlexFilitti Ай бұрын
Yes it comes closer to the OG Streakfly indeed (with a bit less mushiness in the midsole...and a superior midsole compound altogether IMHO)

Saw a Japanese video which showed it had a small nylon plate in it (I think). In this way it's quite similar to the Evo SL? Alex, any opinion on whether the Evo SL makes the Adios 9 redundant? Or are the foams different and the Adios has more bounce?

Remember Dennis Kimetto who won the Berlin marathon (2h02min57s) with Adidas Adios Boost 3 (23mm/13mm). Don't you think that shoe brands are trying to sell us everything they can and make us believe that we will soon have to run with shoes with 50 or 60mm soles? After carbon, ultra soft maximalist soles, and then what? Are we going to lose the values of running and sensations? I'm not a pro-minimalism at all, but I think it's going too far. To the point that we wonder if our distance will depend on a sole height...
