Try not to let the naysayers get to y’all about being biased. I’m a running shoe addict. I’ve tried a bunch of shoes based on your reviews and others out there. Objectively, most shoes right now are pretty great, and the experience for each person is so subjective. So I get why y’all are generally positive about most shoes because, let’s be honest, most companies are killing it right now. Love y’all’s content and reviews. Please keep them going!

Thank you for the disclosures. I do think it makes a difference in how the reviews come across. And like you said - not really necessary for most reviews. But when you’ve come back from a big sponsored event it gives a clearer view of your standpoint.

Long time viewer and big fan, and my vote is to just keep the old light system. The numbers seem to be confusing and don't really add much to the overall review.
@RUN-SCАй бұрын
The old light system is kind of like Ginger Runner's "Buy, Try, Why". Both are simple and elegant.
@BelieveintherunАй бұрын
Your suggestion is valid! We will still give out lights, but want to give more insight into the light system and provide a more detailed look at how we arrived there by using the ratings. Give us 6 months to fine tune it and if you still think it sucks maybe we'll take a poll and re-evaluate.

@@RUN-SC Exactly. Great comparison. Number scores lose meaning far too quickly in an industry where shoe models are constantly updated.

@ndz2913Ай бұрын
@@Believeintherun you should understand that a decimal in a fraction is in fact just a fraction expressed differently. If you wanted to add half points you have a ten point scale not a five point scale so the scores should be out of ten. I think simplicity is great goal. The other thing to remember is that it helps to use the full weight of the scale and hand out some low marks. Doug de Muro in reviewing cars is a good example. Some meaning gets lost if all shoes score over 12 or 13. Points off for Hoka colour ways (most of them). Points off for needing to size up. Function will be tricky is the Superblast 2 better than a Glycerine Max because it does more. Or is Glycerine Max perfect for recovery/easy days - so both are equal?

From a heavy runners perspective the AP3 were great because they were firmer. I bottom out shoes too easily. And they were the only accessible super shoe wide enough for my feet too. Looks like the 4th isn’t for me, but that’s fine. I’ll buy the 3 on sale.

I have a "wider" foot but probably not Jarrett wide. I got in on the running warehouse early release and I was a little worried but I had no issues. I actually thought they felt better than the 3s. I only have a 3 and 4 mile run in them though. I was pleasantly surprised. They definitely like to go fast, I couldn't push to hard as I'm dealing with a injury but I did some strides in the 7s and they definitely felt in the sweet spot there.

The new rating system is great! The running shoe experience is not a binary one. A simple light system doesn't do the more subtle intricacies justice. Those who are calling for the old light system back have an old curmudgeon mentality that is highly averse to any change, whether for the better or worse.

The FCC is pretty clear on the regulations. If they are given incentives by the company to review a product they must disclose that. In this case the incentive was "we'll pay for you and your team to fly to Germany and run in the Berlin marathon in our newest shoes for a review." That's a big incentive and if not disclosed could lead to complaints.

I think Number systems should be broken down to sub categories. Fit should have subcategories like width, instep, tongue, lockdown, breathability, etc. Gear lab has a really good model for most gear they test buy doing a similar grading system. Gives readers a more nuanced look and can allow you to discount things or look for aspects that matter more or most to you. Maybe give the main category scires in the video and in the writeup reviewers can show the sub categories to shownhownthey get to a 4 for overall fit or somethig like that. Just a suggestion

Is the sizing the same as the Pro 3? What I don’t like with Adidas is it changes sizes along the way. The first boost in 2013/14, my size was 10. It was perfect until 2019, when size 10 became bigger. It even was bigger in 2020. Had to purchase size 9. Come 2024, Ultraboost 5x, bought 8.5 but still had more than enough room on the toe box.

Well to be honest, I make my own mind up after trying a shoe .. or I make a compulsive buy before you or any review of a shoe (recently got in the Miro nude 361) which tends to bite me and get me in hot water with my better half. (have to admit, I actually like the Brooks Hyperion elite 4 .. kind of works for me, but the Hyperion 2 works better and a lot cheaper). I doubt any long term viewer of your channel would honestly question the teams integrity . Is there a bias, of course there is ..you lot are human, but it's more the fact you guys love new and sexy. Let’s be honest there are a host of shoes between $90 - $140 that we could all run fine in; “Hell” any Waverider, Ghost, Clifton , Peg all could get us over that 42k .. but it would not be sexy and would not make us “feel” fast. In what other pastime can the average working person pick up the tool of their sporting hero's and just get out the door .. keep doing you BITR. PS I love the traffic light system.

5:48 it already felt like a race day shoe. Just ran a 10k PR in my Pro 3’s today, the midsole might feel different from the 4’s but the 3’s were as race day ready as they come. A non bias review would require a completely objective look at the shoe not taking your own personal experience into the equation at all. Nobody does that, they all do it subjectively therefor it is always subject to their own personal bias, anyone saying it's not a bias review, is either lying, or stupid.

A male with a shoe size of US 7.5 has a 95 % probability of being between 5' 4" and 5' 7". And the similar-looking German gentleman with the shorter mustache, weak chin and sleepy steel blue eyes was 5' 9"; so not quite a doppelganger.

Puma gifted at the 25 Cologne Marathon every runner a nitro shoe during the race at km 39 two years ago. Adidas loosed in everything. So i switched to Puma Elite 3 for Berlin.
