These were my first pair of Kobe’s back in high school. I really loved them! I still remember the commercial with Kobe riding a motorcycle. They lasted really long time for pure outdoor games and I think the synthetic upper does hold better than leather upper - the shoe still looked clean and newish even after the outsole was worn out.

These are dope for nostalgia. Kobe dropped Adidas because of how much he hated the Kobe 2 design. I remember friends copped these at an outlet and I was totally jealous I missed out! Great review!

These are the shoes most synonymous with Kobe from my point of view given how unique it is from a purely design perspective (also because a lot of his Nike shoes, while they're beasts on the court, look fairly similar) I've always liked the way they look - almost got them as a kid but never pulled the trigger. This time around I really want to get a pair for nostalgia purposes...not something you can wear casually everyday.

I had the first color way of these back in high school. My mom gave me $200 to buy myself a Christmas gift and I spent all of it on these.😭 this was about 2001-2002 so yeah expensive. I loved those shoes to death. RIP Mamma and Mamba 😢

Love those shoes. At the time 2001, Adidas box was with profile of Kobe face, loos so good. Creasing looks bad after some time, but still great memories winning that 1st title. RIP Mamba 🙏🏻

I played in these in high school in 2003 beat the hell out of them and final cut hard and top half separated from the bottom half. But they lasted long and I played street ball in them also. I bought the Blue ice pair few years back and have them in my channel background. I can’t wait to try these again! Boost would have been so sick on these

I used to love the look of those back in the day when they first released……and definitely was in the camp of thinking it was adidas attempt at the foamposite. Didn’t realize how boxy they are look-wise. I used to think they were a lot sleeker but guess I’m wrong ….they look like shoes made in Minecraft. I totally forgot about the converse helium shoe!!!! Those were a trip!!!

Audi TT roadster and convertible- no cruiser. I bought the all black Kobe 1’s when I was in Tech school in the Air Force in 2000. Was moving and left them in someone’s trunk and never ever got to wear them. I think I was the only person that liked them back then 😂- Cheers Chris and Jody

I got 2 original pairs of them when I was in university, white-yellow and grey, long long time. I mostly played on outdoor. I can't say they are good or bad because I still young and got a fresh legs. But they were so cool that time. I never saw anybody ware them, only me. And that was awesome 😎

lots of fun memories with these. Bought it my senior year in high school, had the best practice ever (didn't translate to game play though), and it was stolen from me. I am always of the camp who loves the adidas audi collab so good to see these coming back. The originals started out real snug but played nicely after breaking in. cant wait to wear these again. And if i remember correctly Kobe wore these throughout his 1sr 3 peat during the playoffs with some PE colorways that got released with the last retro.

I copped the Nike BB4's at the same time my boy copped these exact Kobes lol we took hoopin so seriously. We won provincials (Canadian State) and looking back it's funny thinking it was because of the kicks cuz godamn those BB4s were heavy lmao. These Kobes are sweet to play in.

I still have the previous retro of these. They were uncomfortable as hell to me. Mainly because they hug your foot way too snug, but I still wore them into the ground. My production date says 11/2013. Fond memories. Always felt like I was wearing storm trooper shoes. The rear of mine is actually actually silver instead of yellow but it does have the adidas embroidered on the tongue.

I never had the original adidas Kobe 1s, but I did have the 2s, and tbh, aside from the creasing, the shoes were very comfortable and had great traction and support. Other than eBay (or certain resale sites), does anyone know if there is another site where those could be purchased from?

Kobe loved these so much he also wore this on their next 2 championship runs. Or maybe the 2s weren't comfy so he went back to the first ones during the 02 playoffs.

I like this sillhouette from Kobe's Adidas signature model. However what I don't like about these is it can get crease easily on the sides of midfoot. That's my only gripe on this sneaker. I also didn't like the IIs either. But for some reason I am hoping that it will be retroed also soon. To get introduced to younger generation. Because it has also a story and part of Kobe's sneaker history.

FUN FACT: Kobe wore the Adidas TheKobe for all 3 Finals during their 2000-2002 3peat. ...debut them for the 1st time in the 2000 playoffs/ finals. wore them in the finals for 2001( the season they actually came out) then switched back to them just for the 2002 finals after wearing the kobetwo all season.

I love these kicks? Growing up in the 90s, I can still remember how I felt when I saw them back then. I had to take a second look. Kinda "what are thoooose" moments. Some might not like the design (even the next version) but I like them. However, wearing them on court is another matter. I can wear these for bball but not the second one. I think that is too heavy for me. 😅

I had the OG version in the Titanium/Silver colorway. They were heavy bricks and were not comfy. Super hot and constructive too. They did not get heavy wear with me. More of a collector’s item imo
