Considering who the jerseys are really made for-- as well as current trends-- a more trim, tailored cut is not surprising. The main thing to remember is to make a decision based on fit/feel, not by a number on a tag. I love your videos, man.

I immediately bought my Size 56 Bruins RR 2.0, and when it came in, I can't remember a less comfortable jersey. The arch stitch at the bottom for the sublimation is wickedly tight, and the arms are shorter than my RR 1.0. Super frustrating. Still love the jersey (and it's a motivator to lose some weight) but still - absolutely a colossal oversight to not tell people buying the new releases.

Yup, this is the video I’ve been waiting to see from you. Grabbed a Detroit RR 2.0 size 50, and when I finally got it I instantly noticed it was too small. Much more narrow than any of my other jerseys (all size 50/M) and seemed more like a 46. The length was there, but the chest was too tight to even put on comfortably, and the obvious issue with the sleeves. Glad to know this seems to be a common occurrence, but bummed that it’s even an issue at all.

I went to a hockey store to get some tape before a game and went to check out their jerseys. I forget what size I tried on (I think 56) of a Rangers RR2 (not sure why the store had it when I live immediately outside Buffalo), and compared to a regular home Saves jersey size 56, it was smaller. I also talked to a store employee that confirmed what I was thinking. I'm not sure why Adidas did that with the sizes, but it's frustrating if you get yours mail order and you think you're getting the right size, just to find out some unknown change was made and the size is now wrong for you.

Aeroready to Climalite to Prime Green has had variations in fit. Used to be a size 54 in the first 2 years of Adidas. Bought the first round round of Reverse Retro in 54. Felt a tad snug but didn't think about it. Bought 54 in this batch and I've had to swap out to 56 in 8 different jerseys. Also I owned two LA Kings Reverse Retro 2.0 in size 56 at the same time and they didn't not fit similar. One 56 felt like a 54 and it was short.

Thanks for this informative video. I am now having second thoughts of buying a RR 2.0 jersey. A golf store told me several brands have changed their sizing. It is highly recommended I try on clothes before purchasing gifts. They were correct. Days later I purchased workout shirts at several stores. Measured the sizing at home; noticed every size went up one size. I am wondering if this is the same with jerseys. To make things more complicated noticed cotton t-shirts and athletic shirt sizes differ depending on the model/line. They should have said this model is slim fit, over sized, or regular fit rather than make customers guess.

It is fitting that you wore Ducks for this Video Neil. I just received my Ducks 2.0 jersey. (A total Beauty btw) I also typically buy size 50. Even in the Reebok days I started to lean more towards Medium Jerseys. I can also wear Large no problem but Med and Size 50 just seemed to just fit nicer. I ordered Ducks 2.0 online. I decided on 52 for 2 reasons. 1. my wife got me RR Leafs 1.0 for Christmas in size 52 assuming I always take Large. This way my RR jerseys match in size (a weird quirk I know) And 2. Given the kind of old school 93 style Ducks 2.0 is based on, I kinda figured go full retro for the baggy look. I can report that the Ducks 2.0 in size 52 seems to match my other 52 jerseys (1st run with button Wild and Leafs RR 1.0). It will be interesting to see if this is a size 50 issue only. Or just a Capitals issue only. I'll eventually get Leafs 2.0 but at least I can try those on at 1st to see if size 50 has any weird shenanigans.

I have worn a 54 in adidas since they came out. I was so excited when this RR 2.0 came out especially since I missed out on the 1.0. Once I received it I immediately noticed it was MUCH slimmer in the body. To the point I couldn’t wear the jersey. I called monumental sports and they just said I could return it but they could not offer a replacement. This led me to keeping this jersey and calling up the Capitals Ice Plex store and ordering a stitches RR2.0 in size 56. Bummed I had to do it, especially at the price of these things as you mentioned.

this is a huge problem for me as I’m an MLB jersey collector, when Nike started making the jerseys I bought one and regretted it the moment I put it on. Nike jerseys run so so big and aren’t true to size at all in my opinion, I’m a size small and majestic jerseys fit perfectly in sleeve length and torso length, but with Nike jerseys the sleeve length is way to long and cut too wide, and the torso length is 2-3 inches too long. needless to say I don’t collect Nike jerseys

Was about to order Rangers RR in Nov in 54 but it sold out in minutes from HA. 56 was available so I bought that one because I wear it for playing with pads and although 54 has been fine for that the big front logo does not allow it to stretch as much as the letters on a regular Rangers jersey so don’t mind the bigger size. Specially now after seeing the sizing issues don’t mind at all that I had to buy the bigger size. Still not received it though as the customization is taking time to arrive.

As a Jersey collector myself I have 9 RR 2.0's (and one free duplicate due to another Adidas issue) and I am around 6' about 275 or so. I got 2 size 60's and 6 size 56's that seem to fit me pretty well. I also have 2 fanatic versions including the Capitals in an Ovechkin as well. Both of those are 2xl. Adidas really both dropped the ball and redeemed themselves at the same time because I also have another common issue that has happened it I got a Calgary Flames RR from Adidas and the inside neck wasn't stitched down (another common issue on some of them) Basically where the flap says Prime Green that isn't stitched down. It just seems like Adidas almost gave up after not renewing their rights or something. However I have also noticed the Prime Greens fit snug anyway so I wonder if that is part of it as well. Still great looking jerseys overall but yeah it just seems like quality on stuff has gone down hill in general.

Not just the Caps! I ordered a new Flames 3rd (Blasty) size 52 in December. Tried it on when it arrived and immediately took it off to check the size. The arms were at least an inch shorter and was 2 inches narrower (in not more) in the chest. Sent it back and the re-order arrived a couple days ago. The new one is much better, but not identical in size to the other Adidas i own (from last year). Fits well enough not to send back but doubt I'll buy another Adidas jersey. *** the re-order was from a different site ***

This has been a HUGE problem for me. I normally wear a 54. When they did their Climalite this was fairly consistent. When they started doing the Primegreen is when i started seeing variations within 54. Some were so small that I'd have to get a 56. One example is I have a 54 Climialite and a 56 Primegreen Sharks jersey. Exact same style of jersey and they're the same exact size. So I thought "Okay, I want the Sharks reverse retro 2.0... gonna get the 56"... NOPE. It is massive. the 56 is so long. Another example is the penguins reverse retro 2.0 It is insanely small. So small that the 56 RR 2.0 is still smaller than my 54 Climalite yellow pens jersey. I literally don't even fit into the 54 Penguins RR 2.0.... where as my other 54s fit great.. if not a bit roomy. This inconsistency has me buying 56s just to play it safe.... but sometimes they're just a bit too big and it bums me out. If the 54s fit like they're supposed to I'd be golden but its so ridiculously inconsistent.

Top quality consumer advice Neil. I can't help but feel that these size discrepancies are as the result of Adidas knowing that they no longer will be making NHL jerseys after 2024 and rushing out these jerseys to general sale without so much as a mere check-up. Perhaps there may be issues with their sub-contractors, perhaps there was something lost in translation - because, let's face it, they will be manufactured somewhere in the Asian sub-continent. And that part of the world isn't exactly what one might call a hockey hotbed.

^ Working in the soft goods industry, every production factory has a 1cm tolerance between what are called "panel breaks." Panel breaks are where you cut and sew a material to another material. For better or worse, this tolerance is because of human factors in precision. Looking at the Caps jersey (which I also have, go Caps and all that) the striping on the arms has 6 panels breaks for each of the fabrics - meaning there is a large tolerance. Since the stripes are also in different locations on each arm, the fit can be affected by that per arm. Comparing to the Stars jersey - which the pattern is completely different due to the striping - and the 'yotes jersey which only has 1 panel break (and sublimated artwork instead of other panels) is not quite apples to apples, for better or worse. Now, should Adidas have accounted for this? Sure, but that factory will always have these tolerances and each jersey of the same production can fit ever so slightly different. If you don't know, now you know. Keep on keepin' on bud.

First, that Caps jersey is WAY off. Lay it out again and look how the sleeve stripes are much much closer to the wrist on one side than the other. Ouch!. Second. Like you I have well over 100 Adidas Indos sizes 50 and the sizing is all over the place. Some measure like a 46 some measure like a 50 and others like a 52. Most are correct but I would say in my collection the discrepancies are at like 20%. I really miss Reebok Edge 2.0. Such a better jersey at about the same price point when they were at retail. They were real NHL jerseys. Not these summer dresses...lol. Some people compare these to Reebok Premier and say they are better but that is incorrect. Premiers are more akin to the current Fanatics. So currently we have 2 replicas to choose from and both are way off the mark. Hoping the next manufacturer offers on ice jerseys at retail. Cheers.
