Really enjoying this movie so far... been watching a lot of miniminuteman and seeing ancient civilizations and the ways they built their homes and villages along with the terrain, angling holy sites to face the sun when it rises and planning their cities so very carefully but also spontaneously in the form of desire paths so that they're equal parts random and beautiful- it's made me want to get back into minecraft building. I'm especially enamored by the puebloan cliff communities in mesa verde, and i'd love to transform a badlands biome into something so homey and warm like that :)

incredible video :0!! i picked up minecraft again after a few years and thought building was way out of my comfort zone (I am very comfy with my dirt houses and pure wood bases) but this made it feel so approachable! i had no idea a lot of making builds look good came down to art fundamentals but it totally makes sense! hoping i can flex a little on my friends with all the fun tricks lol ^^

They are all tips you can use in survival, the more you practice the more efficient you’ll get

How does the minecraft community view builders that use mods like extraplacements? I get that in some situations mods like this can make a crappy builder look good. But they can also make a good builders creations 10x better.

There are many different types of builders and players. Creative players where anything often goes, modded players who use extra blocks etc. and survival players who just use the limitations of the game, with all flavours in between. Use what you want to use. Just be transparent with people how you did something and generally all are happy.

For me havin done lotta art and research bout it, saw many reapearing lessons, but I am trying to combine 2 styles. Steampunk(fantasy/victorian) and Dwarfen(warcraft/warhammer) And could really need some advise on how to mix them ballanced I did search out many pictures from pinterest and even drew some building parts, sorta using all the basic steps but also sillouette and shape language to try and find my own style if you will. But how do I balance Style A: (dwarfen) On long and mid distance based builds with no rounded shapes, and spaceous design With style B: (steampunk) Which is based on short to mid viewdistance based builds which can sometimes be without specific shape and verry compact and detailed design Letalone their diff colour pallette and timeline They do tho share neutral and warm colour

Check out some Warcraft art on Dwarven stuff as there are already some steampunk influences in there. Like the gyrocopter. Is the architecture from Dwarven stuff, then use steampunk elements (pipes, cogs, machines) to detail and add interiors. It should look really cool when you’re done!

I’d suggest planning the builds and roads out first and then seeing what the space looks like. Then look at the build style etc.

While watching this video, i thought: Why not build a great wall of china type of wall from world border to world border. I just figured out why not because it would take at least 56,123,472,300 blocks to build it. Might be wrong, tho because im not the best at doing the maths.

Bro, it works the other way. Darks are close and brights are further away, and we probably think that because of air, the further away something is the more blue, less dark, and it has less contrast. But all in all, Vidieo is Great. (I think that you have just miss spell it but not everybody knows that) and you have corrected yourself later.
