Adire Nollywood Review (Kehinde Bankole, Yvonne Jegede, Ibrahim Chatta, Femi Branch, Lizzy J)

Hi Tito, we were made to understand that Adire wasnt happy with her life. At the beginning, captain mentioned that her sleeping with Chatta's character would be the last or so, and she replied that he always says so and it never ends. Displeasure was written all over her face. Towards the end of the movie also, it was revealed that Adire was taken from her family at a very young age and forced into prostitution (unless i deduced wrongly). For the bit of you saying that she went to the church for customers-I totally disagree. If you can recall, the first tine she stepped into the church (in her white dress) was with Thomas. I think she went as his guest not knowing there was a burial taking place. Lastly, i think the movie is about compassion and not being overly righteous (judgemental). Lots and lots of people are quick to judge people but deep down they are the wicked- lack compassion forgetting that we are prone to mistakes. People also lack LOVE for their neighbours. Salvation is not about condemnation but winning a lost soul.

I agree very much with your inferment of the lazy writing, terrible casting, Etal. Nollywood needs to do better than making us create reasons for the plot of their movies. Overall, it really was an okay watch. Shout out to you for the review, to the crew and everyone who put in the work for the movie. Hopefully, they would take this review as objectively as they can.

To me Tito this was a good movie , the message was clear , it might not be that suffocated like other movies in recent time , I think it was a different kind of storyline but the written was really bad and that affected the directin. the actors did their best,some loose ends though but them try.

It’s nice seeing Kelechi Udegbe and Kehinde Bankole, I got introduced to these fantastic actors in a 2004/5 super story series😂

I enjoyed Adire Tito 😂 I usually agree with u but I liked the characters especially Salewa 😅 But yeah that part where Captain was knocked out, I wondered where his goons were. Captain wasn’t scary at all What happened to Captain’s body???

I know right. It's just a movie but still make it make sense. It can be a movie without it making me ask so many questions about the plot and the characters. I shouldn't be stressed out by a film in this way.

I typically find your movie reviews totally reflect my sentiments, however, after watching the movie myself, I didn't mind it. My only reservation is, Captain's character did not quite make the mark. Overall enjoyable. There, I agree. Great work

When I watched the movie I was like no storyline, nothing but I came online I saw 10/10 I'm like ahh is it me but hearing you say all of this, I'm okay. Let's assume that the Thomas guy's ex-wife broke him and he's not totally a loser, and he just needed companion, cos he was looking lost in that gathering. The religious aspect too **bombastic side eye**. The most painful part of this movie is that they packed brilliant actors and made them look like they don't know what they are doing. 1/5 is fair sha. Great review as always.

Tbh, I didn't think deeply about it. Thanks for your reviews always. I did notice about lazy writing, the ending was too watery and that Thomas character ehn, OMG I was not happy everytime his scene featured. Anyways, I think it was a commercial success... The lessons were here and there. And about the Christianity part-, u re absolutely right... They did not do justice to that at all but I am not surprised - it's nollywood.

Thanks Lola. My thinking was why introduce the whole Church and Christianity angle if you're not gonna complete it with her giving her life to Christ or at least fully renouncing her past ways and getting on the path to redemption. She just wound up in that church out of convenience.

1st off - Thomas is a loser! I was also wondering what this film is about? I like your thing about second chances however I think 'second chances' is too broad, it might fit any film with conflicts. Almost any film can be a film of second chances. From Breath of life to gangs of Lagos. So maybe that. I don't know, I think why it's unclear because it probably wasn't clear when it was written.
