Referring to President Droupadi Murmu’s address in Parliament, Sonia Gandhi's statement: "The President was getting very tired by the end. She could hardly speak, poor thing" has stirred a political storm with the Rashtrapati Bhavan issuing a statement.
Without taking names, the President’s office reacted sharply to the comments, calling them hurtful and “entirely avoidable”.
Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra defended her mother's statement and said “she meant no disrespect” to the President.
