You made her monologue about "what happens when you die" finally make sense to me. It's clear now that all along it's been Villanelle, in there, dying forever. Masterfully edited, friend.

You got me fascinated now. Can you expand on why you think it's Villanelle in there dying forever?

Wow, I never got that before. It all makes sense with this video though. Damn

Senate300 She says that when you die, your eyes empty. She called herself a void, with nothing real in there. She also said she feels nothing, no matter what she tries to do. She said that when you die, your soul goes IN, until it can't control your body anymore. She's never died though, she's only killed. She doesn't know what happens to the soul when the body dies. So it can be extrapolated that she's projecting, actually saying when YOU die, MY soul goes in. I think she looks at their eyes when they die because she's sensation-seeking, trying to feel alive. Maybe trying to see what souls look like right before they empty the eyes, trying to use the sight to recognize her own soul in her. The irony is that every time she seeks the sensation of being alive through killing, she pushes her own soul farther in and feels more nothing. The last image says it all. Numbness overtakes her and her body, no longer controlled by a soul, walks her out of the room on autopilot.

@@ashtenchambliss284 Villanelle's a walking contradiction in terms and identity. Until now, Oksana the child of vulnerable narcissism who was stunted in her emotional growth was in juxtaposition to the psychopathic Assassin of showmanship, pride and depravity that is Villanelle. The I feeling nothing monologue acknowledges the emptiness Villanelle's abnormality has left her cursed with but also blessed with the ability to kill with impunity and without conscience. The kills used to come from a place of pleasure, greed and cold blood. I like to think of Villanelle as one absorbing the souls of those she kills because she didn't have one of her own. And those she attached herself to(Anna, Eve and Konstantin) were vessels to which she projected her emotional desires because of the human bondages and emotional capacity she long coveted for herself. To the Villanelle identify, it was Oksana dying forever yet crying out to be reborn.

I think it’s more dark than that. It shows how much of a psychopath she is - she feels such fun, excitement and fulfillment from inflicting pain, killing people and taking their life from them. For most people facing death, accepting it and looking at the possibility of going into a better place (heaven or whatever) gives them hope. But here, Villanelle is taking that hope away from them. She’s trying to make them realize that, after death, they don’t go on to a better place, their souls just slowly disintegrate into their bodies, dying forever as she said. This gives her even more satisfaction and god like control over their very lives. She’s the one who ends their life and causes their souls to be trapped inside forever. This is what psychopaths thrive off of, this god-like complex, because it’s the only fulfillment they can get. And clearly here, she thoroughly enjoys that power, as well as the torture. Like a game of cat and mouse, a cat playing with a mouse, enjoying its hunt, before killing it.

When Villanelle met Massive Attack, magic happened. That magic being not only the peak of Villanelle's psychopathy highlighted but also the self awareness of the baseline emptiness(that no amount of lavish decadence she once drowned herself in can fill) that her mental abnormality has left her cursed with but has also blessed her with the will to act with impunity and kill without conscience. Villanelle's fascination with what happens to the soul was quite telling since she loved to see the life drain from the eyes of her victims. Until now, under the beast made flesh she created, it was Oksana the child inside stunted in her emotional growth who was dying forever, crying out to be seen and born again as humane.

Holy shit this was incredibly edited. Couldn’t stop watching from beginning to end. The opening where you waited to show her face as they described her was great, and all the insights into her psyche were ::chefs kiss:: Watching her try and capture the life leave someone every time she killed them. To feel something herself? Like watching a human try and understand an ant. Interest and knowledge, but no true understanding. You made it so fascinating to watch through her eyes 🙌🏻

This might be the best Villanelle video out there it’s got so many of her many faces and it’s enthralling ! She can be so many things and to get to the bottom of it you have to appreciate the lovely Jodie Comer . She has brought this written character to life on a flaming comet from awesometown ! Can you just imagine another actress playing this role because I can’t . I’m simply blown away by the lack of remorse at times but then seemingly she sends chills down your spine with a simple look ! There is a lot of depth in her acting as well as her facial expressions , it’s like she’s staring right through you ... chilling and yet so obviously beautiful ! It’s a rarity that this comet has landed here in earth for our enjoyable future and thank goodness she didn’t scorch us too bad from the heat !!!
