Never knew this! COOL! I do wish the damn clock was easier to change...as w/spring & fall time changes....we have to do this 2 times a year. It's a PITA as it currently needs to be done!!!

Bizarre that the Subaru "auto sensitivity" has nothing to do with __light__ sensitivity, but everything to do with __sampling__ "intensity" (frequency). Thanks for clarifying this!

I have a 2015 outback limited burning through headlights and was told it was because I could only use bulbs directly through subaru which felt like a lazy bs answer. I drive ALOT and leave the lights on auto, this now, explains a lot. Can you help me know how to adjust my settings

My 2017 Forester premium xt has the auto headlights. No prob for a year and a half till this morning when the lights came on in broad daylight upon starting the car and stayed on until I switched from auto to off. Any ideas?

Hi, did you resolve the issue? I had almost the same issue and I have my 2018 Forester tail lights on themselves even if the car is closed after an hour or so. But they turn off when I close the car though

@@ZarifSafiullin I just had this problem with my 2015 Forester. the auto lights worked fine until 2 days ago, now they won't turn off when it's light out.

@@hawkz3167 I had to stop using Auto switch and was always turning lights on manually unfortunately. Dealership has changed the sensor or something there but this didn't resolve the issue

How in the world did you find this out? I have been extremely frustrated on any number of counts trying to find and understand electronics features of my '17 Forester XT Touring, and I include the owner manuals, and dealer sales and service personnel in that list of sub-optimal info sources. Specific to this one feature, I believe I have ours set on Max but I think it is still far too slow in reacting to tunnels and parking garages.

Does anyone know how to tone down the unbelievable dazzling brightness of my 2017 Forester’s headlights? It’s the touring edition with the steering-responsive LED headlights, and they’re practically as bright as aircraft landing lights. People are continuously flashing their lights at me and in one case a guy even turned around and followed me into a parking lot and yelled at me for “refusing” to dim my high beams (they WERE on low.). Heck, they even annoy ME when I’m behind a light-colored car because the reflected light off the back of their car is so dazzling.

Thats led headlights for you, unless the housing is aimed wrong like up high theres nothing you can do
@marksandstrom42485 жыл бұрын
no matter what the headlight technology, old or new, you need to have them properly aligned. this shouldn't be difficult for a good mechanic to adjust, or even yourself if you're careful about a level parking spot, a wall, and a tape measure.

Put very high led fog lights on. Compared to the headlights, they are very bright. Throws off people looking at them. Problem resolved.

This is a Subaru defect and dangerous. The lights are supposed to auto align (level) they don't. In my 2020 Outvook Outdoor (Onix) page 249 of the owners manual admits this defect. States that is the vehicle is carried in a tilt bed truck it causes the auto level system to malfunction and it must be takes to a dealer to correct. The part the dealers fail to understand is that all Subarus are delivered to the stealer's on a tilt bed truck! My Dealer, Subaru of Niagara's response was that there is nothing wrong and we know this because we compared other modeles! Where's Jeff Foxworthy with "Here's your sign" The fix is simple and could be done by owners. Why won't Subaru release this or fix the defect! I can smell a class suit comming. The DOT should force a recal.
