Man this video saved my butt. Im handy and refuse to pay sombody for somthing i know i can eventually figure out i inherited my grandmothers herbert herr Cheap small brown cuckoo and it had a laundry list of issues that i had to sort out from ticking off beat, gong needed adjusted and finally fixing the cuckoo door and bird "moving and door closing" thanks for the video really enjoyed this one and am going to watch more. It seems like these clocks can run forever with some TLC

Glad that you got it figured out and yes with little maintenance (about once every 3-5 years depending on the environment you need to take the movement out and clean it, oil it, etc.,) they will last life times. @munnerlyn3 thanks for the info and yes I did subscribe! I ended up taking the movement out I had light airplane oil I used for the movement it was surprisingly clean being this clock is from the 70s I'm not sure if that was the right oil to use or not what would you recommend using in the future?

@@Running-with-skizers I use synthetic motor oil 0W-20. Movements made around 1990 and newer have syn oil stamped on them.

then it should work. If you have to service the clock before 3-5 years then you might want to change the oil.

I have a cuckoo clock, one of the chains wheels continuously to go backwards and forward. Excuse me, moves backwards and forwards instead of locking in one position do I need a new wheel?

Mark, I’m still dealing with the only one cuckoo bellow on my clock. I’ve done all that I know to do I’m beginning to feel that the bottom high note lever is faulty. It did not come with a lift wire, so I’ve been guessing on size and besides that the lever just dangles downward instead of face sideways. What do you think, should I try to bend it up presumably after a cuckoo…still have tons to lean. Thanks Sherri😊

Take a video of it in action. Post that video to your you tube channel since you dont have a FB account. Let me know when it is posted so I can view it. I am going to guess the wire is too long or too short or you are using to light/stiff of a wire.

Thanks Seth. I hope that it explains things well. I dont have the fancy equipment like you do to edit. So when I mess up I have to keep going or start over. LOL.
