Appreciate this video, it’s a bit confusing for new players such as myself getting into adjusting the manual fans
@ominousview Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video. I believe Fan 2 is over the SD card. I would Make that one more aggressive before getting to 70 C since the optimal running temp is 70C, yes it can still perform above 70 C but not for long periods. This is what ASUS is probably going to do when they mentioned updating the fan profiles recently

I read somewhere on the internet that fan 2 curve should be lower than the fan 1 (can't remember the source), can someone explain it to me? or is it not true?
@RypperGaming Жыл бұрын
I am not sure why that would matter unless you are just putting less stress on the 2nd fan. I have had mine equal with no issues.

hi what are SPL,SPPT and FPPT
@SussyFortskinNiteFreakbob Жыл бұрын
SPL is maxmium sustainable GPU wattage limit, SPPT is Max GPU wattage sustained for 2 minutes, and FPPT is maximum GPU power to sustain to 10 seconds (like a turbo mode)
@rosaria8384 Жыл бұрын
SPL - consistent power when in process SPPT - 2 minute power surge (for things like loading essential stuff before going to SPL) FPPT - 10 second power surge (for things like loading screens when you boot the game)

Thanks so much for the video and showing the settings for us who aren’t that use to fan curves. Just a question, how do you get the fan curves to save? I don’t know if I’m missing something obvious, but they just won’t save for some reason. If I click on no. 1 on fan 1 for example and then set the curve up as you have here, then go to the tick next to the manual mode name I would have thought hitting that saves it. But if I then go and hit on fan 1 no. 2 it changes the settings obviously which is expected, but then clicking on the no. 1 again doesn’t have the fan curve as you have showed here, it goes back to what no. 1 originally was like it hasn’t saved. Am I missing something?
@RypperGaming Жыл бұрын
That should work. You could try creating a new fan profile from the settings icon on the right and see if you can get it to save.
@skyliner967 Жыл бұрын
@@RypperGaming thanks for the reply. Yeah tried it but it doesn’t seem to hold to the assigned number. Like it will stay if I don’t click any of the other number tabs, but as soon as I do, it changes to that preset and then trying to click back on the number/preset that I customized isn’t there anymore, just reverts back to whatever it was originally.

my ally has 20 /30w on spl,25 /43w on sppt and 30/53 w on fppt... which setting would be best for overall gaming and why mine dont have same value as your?
@RypperGaming Жыл бұрын
The values change based on whether you are plugged in or not. The settings I show are known as a sweet spot for gaming and battery life. If playing plugged in, you can max them all out and just make sure you have good fan curves for cooling as it can get warm. You can also run the turbo plugged in if you choose.
@mytho-seb Жыл бұрын
just did this and getting much more consistent fps in Destiny 2! was using performance before, and it coulf get to 45~ but the drops were here, this profile is much more consistent at 55~ and drops are much less severe! thank you!

Great news. 18W seems to be the sweet spot for a lot of games.

Can I apply these same fan curves to the plugged in turbo mode? Will it be any different than the regular 30w turbo?
@RypperGaming Жыл бұрын
I think you would have to make a manual profile for turbo only. Although I think playing with Turbo and plugged in should be sufficient. If not, make a manual profile and set the fan curves how you like with the wattage turned up.
@volcalstone Жыл бұрын
@@RypperGamingI wonder if there is a different manual mode while being pulled vs on battery. I know you could make another profile. More testing I guess.

I turn on RSR through the command center. If you check out the ROG Ally Settings video I did it shows how to add items to command center. One of the items you can add is the easy ability to turn RSR on/off.

Two quick questions I’m new to this , but I was usually play in performance mode , when not plugged in and turbo mode when plugged , if I copy your settings will that work for me in turbo mode , because I didn’t do any manual fan curves and this is new to me
@RypperGaming Жыл бұрын
18w is the setting people are using to get a little more power while conserving battery life. If you use the standard options included with the Ally you do not have to create custom fan curves.

If you don't want to get into fan curves, you can use the Ally presets of Performance or Turbo for most games. I have several other videos targeted towards beginners and often get new video ideas from my comments.
