Can the straightening apply to the rimless Cartier too. Like the wood and Buffalo horn with the same outward temple problem?

How do you adjust rimless Cartier Buffalo horn frames they keep slipping down? Is the horn frame adjustable?
@DrNickDanger Жыл бұрын
You’d likely need to adjust the curve on the horn behind the ears. I’d have an optician do this, and I’d first ask if they know how to adjust horn. It requires lots of heat to soften the glue between the horn layers, and lots of patience to heat, bend, cool, reheat, a little bit at a time.

Can bending damage the matt finish on the temples of my metal frame?
@DrNickDanger4 жыл бұрын
Yes it can, depending on the quality of the finish, and how much you bend it

My end pieces went super loose and I tried to tighten it up with a plier but it won't budge. I don't have a screwdriver that fits with me and I'm in a lockdown. Ughh
@DrNickDanger3 жыл бұрын
I don’t recommend this, but a knife’s edge can work in place of a flathead screwdriver in a pinch. Good luck!

after getting hit in the face with a basketball the left leg is sticking out too much. i mean i understand wire frames but i got plastic frames so now im scared of cracking the plastic
@DrNickDanger3 ай бұрын
Plastic frames often need to be warmed before you can bend them, unless you’re only bending the metal hinge. You can do it carefully with a blow dryer, but I would recommend just taking it to your local optician as they have better experience, and the proper tools.
@ricamaraviennamael.30472 жыл бұрын
How much will it cost if you want to repair it in the store?
@DrNickDanger9 ай бұрын
Depends how much work the repair takes, but here in the United States, most opticians do basic repairs for free, encouraging you to bring your prescription to them next time you need glasses. If there’s welding or anything more complicated required, there’s typically a charge, usually below 100 USD.

My glasses are really thin metal, am afraid to break it easily if I did that….
@DrNickDanger9 ай бұрын
First look closely for any cracks that might cause it to break if you bend. Also check the metal for any deterioration which can also cause it to break. If it’s too much, visit your local optician. Good luck!
@imaanirfan55024 жыл бұрын
can i fix em' without the tool u used?
@DrNickDanger3 жыл бұрын
I don’t recommend this, but you can bend a temple piece inward by gently pushing that side’s hinge (the corner piece) against a table’s edge. Best of luck!

How do i fix them if i dont have my glasses on shit
@DrNickDanger9 ай бұрын
That’s a deep question there! Always have a backup pair. Even if it’s a very cheap pair with basic lenses, it will come in handy some day!
@williamabel84853 жыл бұрын
I’m scared to do this because the lenses are in a half frame and I am worried about popping them out.
@DrNickDanger3 жыл бұрын
If you use two pliers, you can avoid putting pressure on the lens
@aiskuasadua71293 жыл бұрын
I used a pair of tweezers. Not using their pointy tips. Instead, I put the hinge between the tweezers and bend it slowly.

@jkinvsb13143 жыл бұрын
Is it possible to bend the bridge so that the glasses become more curved and therefore have a more wrap around look? If my glasses were a bit more curvy or pressed to the face I would not see so much of the frame so I wonder if there are any methods to attain this.
@DrNickDanger3 жыл бұрын
That would affect your vision negatively. Your prescription is written for lenses that are flat in front of your eyes at a certain distance. Always see an optician to make adjustments to your glasses!

If the bend is too severe, it might break when bending back. But it might also be ok. Bend it very slowly, and good luck!
