Adjusting the chain on a Ryobi 14" 40volt 4ah Chainsaw

We bought a Ryobi chainsaw and out of the box the chain was on backwards! We had to flip it around, so we made this video showing how to do it.
This chainsaw has really surprised us. We weren't really sure what to expect, but this thing is legit! So easy, quiet and effective. We're mostly using it on cedar trees and it cuts through them like a breeze.

I’m glad it helped you. We have found it best not to tighten the chain when the chain is very hot from use. It stretches the chain after repeated “hot tightenings.” If you eventually need your chain but a new chain, we’ve had good luck with generic chains from Amazon. Just make sure it has the same number of chains. That being said, the Ryobi one does respond well to hand sharpening with a file. Thanks again!

Thanks. We have a gas powered and an electric one. I prefer the electric. It's easier to use and much quieter.

So im not the only one! My 14 in 40v HP chainsaw ALSO came with the chain on backwards!! I too thought i purchased the worst Chainsaw ever possible!! I thought it was crazy that the chain came from the factory backwards. I was already considering getting my money back 👀

Thanks for asking. Our property is located on the edge of the Great Plains, and grass fires are a constant threat in our area due to the constant wind. Last summer was an especially rough time, as we could simultaneously see smoke from several nearby large grass fires from our property. We kept a close eye on the real-time fire map in our county. The cedar trees are a highly flammable invasive species. Our county routinely gives incentives to land owners to remove the cedars. We are mainly removing them from areas where we will be installing food plots. Thanks again for watching and asking!

Yes! We have a gas powered chainsaw, too, but we both prefer the electric. I am currently covered in tree bits because my wife and have been using the Ryobi today. We love it!
