The recumbent trikes from AZUB offer a variety of adjustment opportunities for you to have the most comfortable ride possible. They call this adjustment series the IPS or Ideal Positioning System.
In this video I go over the basics of AZUB’s IPS on my AZUB Model TiFLY recumbent trike.

The Azub IPS is innovative and seems very easy to adjust. Nice video presentation, Matt.

HP's new Ergo Mesh Premium seat offers similar adjustments as the AZUB has. I ordered my Scorpion Enduro with the Premium seat, and have not regretted that decision, albeit at the time I ordered my trike 2 1/2 years ago it was a $299 adder, today that same set retails for $899, glad I got mine when it was first introduced!!

Great job with the video I like how you showed doing adjustemtns and changes to the seat. Enven more so I like the you on purpose had your seat stays in the wrong angle to show how to adgust them to the right angle. Along with explaing why it needs to be at the 90 degree angle.

It would be great if all recumbent trike manufacturers offered a sliding seat! It doesn't have to be much distance, but even a little bit would be helpful, and remove the need to make adjustments to chain length. A setup like AZIB offers is perfect for those who share a trike with someone else. For me, I set it once, alter the chain length (adding or removing links), and then I'm good to go for all triking eternity! AZUB does indeed have some very useful options! steve

Matt.. you talked about seat positioning (forward and back) for weight distribution on front and back wheel.. it would make sense that if you have panniers (added rear weight) then maybe slide the seat forward to redistribute some weight to the front wheels. or move the seat back if you don't have panniers.. Thinking you could put the front wheels on a scale and then the rear wheel on the scale to see if the weight is distributed equally front and back.
@JaYoeNation
@JaYoeNation Жыл бұрын
I sort of mentioned that. As I was on a tour it was not as important to try to put more weight on the back wheel. Your right. Weighing the front wheels would be interesting.

I like this video but have one issue. Perhaps just for me but I think the leg extension should have a bit more bend when extended. Also love those big ass pedals, I will never go back to small ones. Best yet.

I have a bend for sure. This was basically recommended from Azub. As long as you don’t lock the legs.

Did your seat cushions come with the trike? I'm looking for seat cushions for my Gekko 26 that will stop my recumbent numbness when I'm riding. My seat back is fully extended back.

3:59 That's not the proper way of setting up leg extension because it assumes everybody's foot length and foot position on the pedal is the same. This method assumes that your foot position will be with the ball of the foot on the pedal axle, so it's especially ironic to use this method with Catalyst pedals since they're designed for a midfoot position where the pedal axle sits between both ends of the foot arch. Pedaling Innovations asserts that a midfoot position is superior to the forefoot position.

Thanks for the comment…. Not sure how AZUB would respond to this. I think I did it properly. But I can see what your talking about.

@@JaYoeNation At least according to some videos from Cade Media, the anecdotal evidence of their bike fit studio is that few to none of their customers experienced knee pain from saddles that were too low. Virtually all of their clients who experienced knee pain was because of saddles that were too high or something unrelated to saddle height. Their data could be skewed by the fact that far more of their customers come in with saddles that are too high than too low. But I think that goes to show that a lot of riders make the mistake of knee overextension. Obviously excepting the most casual/ignorant of riders who set saddle height based on saddle distance to the ground.
