Adjutants also give a might bonus to the main unit if they're one of their "special allies", since they're treated the same as a linked attack. Not sure if you went over that bit and I missed it but that's something worth noting. For that very reason, I find adjutant Dedue paired up with Dimitri to be an absolutely insane duo (as it should be), as he benefits from more might for OHKO's, and Dedue can easily supply that meaty adjutant guard to make the boar even more unstoppable. Sometimes you just need TWO MEN, after all.

@@Choops6969 I got my info on the might bonus from serenes' page on Linked Attacks and Gambit Boosts here: serenesforest.net/three-houses/miscellaneous/linked-attacks-gambit-boost/ "If the character has an Adjutant deployed, the Adjutant will count as an additional supporting ally, for a maximum number of four." There's also a table there which shows what unit pairs give a might bonus with their linked attack, Dimitri x Dedue and as the other guy said, Byleth/Seteth x Flayn are some of them. The idea behind my comment is that you can gain the benefits of Adjutant Guard and also have a permanent +3 might from Dedue since he'll always be counted as a linked attack, being an adjutant and all that.

I only made her Mortal Savant when I feel like the map needs extra warper or healer, if not I’ll reclass her back to Swordmaster because the Sword Crit +10 is too good to pass. She got her revenge on the Death Knight by critting him with the Rapier boosted by the class ability and Critical Ring. If she reached S in sword than she can permanently stay Mortal Savant.

Good advice Chaz. Appreciate the breakdown. I utilized Dedue as a fortress knight adjutant with Dimitri and he became pretty much unstoppable. Also Felix with Aegis shield and Dedue is another scary combo.

When it comes to the attack stance characters, I just assume the just stand there menacingly till the decide to take whenever they feel like it. Plus I leveled up my characters enough to basically breeze through the game easily. #FearTheDeer

I love Flayn as my favorite adjutant healer. As someone who replays Blue Lions route often, she quickly builds supports with Byleth, Dimitri, Dedue, Felix and Sylvain. Once Seteth joins, then you can re class her to Pegasus knight for the Seteth support adjutant, or just keep her as the healer adjutant instead with the others. Either way, she'll rapidly build supports and heal your front line units.

She also gives extra damage to both Byleth and Seteth via linked attack, which is automatic while being an adjutant.

Flayn is definitely one of the very best adjutants as a pegasus knight paired with Seteth or flying Byleth. The bonus to might and avoid as support level increases can't be beat by anyone else (only tied by house Lord linked attack). An even better adjutant setup is armor/brawler Dedue with Dimitri for these same bonuses plus the defensive adjutant ones.

Adjutants are great, they took the positives of Pair-Up while keeping them fair but helpful, I'm also very glad that the best ones are the Armor Adjutant considering that they are probably some of the worst classes in the game. What I do with them is keep my units usable by choosing the lower level ones or I make the units that need to upgrade their efficiency my Adjutants, I'm making my Mercedes into a Mortal Savant this playthrough so I'm able to use her as a Mercenary for the class bonus while using another unit she supports with, killing two birds with one stone.

The positive with Awakening pair up is that it was absurdly strong even if not consistent for strategy, while Fates pair up is completely consistent and can be planned and accounted for, even if it does only half damage. 3H attack adjucs are both weak and inconsistent making them objectively the worst and least fun pair up for anything other than support points and exp. Healing Adjucs are a good addition tho and at least the guard ones are consistent, but I think pair up was mostly fixed in Fates

Hoodie X Fates definitely fixed Pair-Up making it kinda a risk vs reward system and allowing the enemies to use it too, Adjutants are more just 3H being very user friendly with allowing you to bring your underleveled units to chapters.

I think you forgot to mention that Adjutants (all type of them) help your units like they are a Linked attack partner. For example, a unit with an A support with an Adjutants will always have +10 Hit/Dodge since that Adjutant will always be with him (and if there are 3 other characters in the attack forecast with A support the buff can go above the normal 30 Hit/Dodge and become 40 Hit/Dodge). This is extremely useful for character with Bond supports or special supports bonus like Dimitri and Dedue since these two together gives +3 might to each other so if you pair A support Dedue with Dimitri your Dimitri is gonna have +3 Attack period in player phase all the time. Which is something I really love to abuse with Swift strike Sylvain with Ingrid adjustant xD

Can confirm Chupi, defense adjutants are-broken- I mean cool as hell. Found out on my first Maddening run, on my first church route. Last night actually. Caspar got Strength screwed on the best possible difficulty. So I benched him and had him back up Linhardt. What I saw was pure beauty. He guarded the crap outta him from a demonic beast. Now with your video telling me even more about them, I am 100% convinced to make more brawlers and armored knights. 👍

I really only use adjutants for two reasons 1. To build a support pairs to marry characters together 2. If a character is really falling behind, I’ll attach them to a character who really gets a lot of action, thus “carrying” their levels

Tbh the #1 thing I use Adjutants for is the passive leveling. Say, purely hypothetical scenario, you have an Ignatz who couldn't really keep up with Maddening but you still want him as a Rally Speed Cavalier for whenever you might need that, you could just slap him onto someone else and have him level along to the Lv10 he needs. It's a great feature for getting niche support units to the classes you want them to be in without having to feed them kills in the babying-hostile environment of Maddening. Didn't actually know the Healing Adjutants were completely RNG free, figured they just popped up at random. I also had no idea what the Guard ones actually *do*, so hearing about the guaranteed death protection in particular was really interesting and I think I'll see if I can't make use of that post timeskip when the benchwarmer support squad is done leveling what they need to level. Now excuse me while I bring my Raphael along to get him into Brawler.

A note on support gain: If the support between the host and the adjutant is maxed or non-existent, then there will be 0 support gain between the adjutant and the other linked battle units. Same goes for adjutant to adjutant support gain.
