Here it goes all the explanation: There was leaks in 1.6 about the new lc in 2.0 and one of them portrayed Aventurine with someone else, that someone is supposed to be Dr. Ratio. The leaked description back then was perfect to be a toxic yaoi ship. Then, the 2.0 mission arrived. While in their interaction looked like Dr. Ratio making fun of him, there was a certain subtext of careness (In JP or other languages expect EN it was more obvious). But then the 2.1 quest arrived with the doctor's advice telling a hint and that he has to stay alive, wishing him luck. Knowing the fact most or all characters don't want to deal or willing to treat with Aventurine, to the point none would mourn him if he died, made Ratio the expection yet it looks like Aventurine thinks Veritas hates him but that ain't true. If you are going to bring out the racist allegation and the betrayal, I will be glad to answer since those have their own context of why they were made without the intention of actually hurting the other one. Overall went to a toxic yaoi to a doomed yaoi since the gambler would probably be executed if he fails. That's why people ship them, I hope this is helpful for u :D.

the end was hilarious not gonna lie :D to be honest is very obvious they are made for each other. people only see the cover of the book but dont want to read and dive deep into it, they are much more than toxic yaoi, they treat each others as equals, yeah it may seems the oposite but is not , read between the lines like they do 👀 there a lot going on in 2.1, most people will never notice it, so i do agreee with you, im sure the MC will notice it too if he was there with the two of them in one room :D funny you puting sunday and screwlum as the better men but now we know sunday aint the better option, while screwlum is still very neutral in the whole picture (be honest we barely know anything about him) so yeah ratio and aventurine are like those big tsundere who dance around each other not wanting to face it properly and is tiring too look at, but knowing deep inside they care about each other is already enough. so glad the new story quest cleared the toxic relation, if people still think is toxic they clearly didnt pay attention, thank you for listening. have a nice day🤝

If you’re implying that it didn’t age well because Aventurine “died”, he didn’t, it was stated multiple times in the story that he’s not dead and isn’t ready to die yet. If it was about Ratio’s “betrayal”, the story literally tells us that Aventurine was in on it and Ratio was just going along with the plan.
