Hi Darlene - Long Time, No Speak !!! Following on from this informative video, are you planning to put together instruction on how to use Excire and Luminar Neo together (as an alternative to subscribing to Lightroom/Photoshop) - or have you already done this ?? If so, could you point me to where I might watch it, please. Many thanks and Best Wishes to you both for the New Year !! Kindest regards Jan

I have the PS plan with monthly payments. So I tried to change it to an annual payment as you suggest, but that option was NOT AVAILABLE! Is this more of Adobe's conniving behavior?
@DigitalPhotoMentor14 күн бұрын
I explained that in the video. I had the same issue. Just open a chat with their support and they can do it for you. Get a real agent not an AI bot. It seems about half the people can do it on their own account and the other half can't. Dunno why

Thanks for the “warning” as I haven’t been notified about the changes. You explained it very clearly so thank you for your detective work. I have the 9.99 US account with 20GB which was just billed to my credit card a couple of days ago. I’m going to switch to the annual rate and lock in the price for a year. I use the feature of having a couple of portfolio websites for my work, another valuable asset in the plan. Do you know if the Portfolio part is still included in the new plan?
@DigitalPhotoMentor18 күн бұрын

I have the original 100GB account at the $9.99 amount that was offered when Adobe first switched to a subscription-based plan. Unfortunately, they don't offer any option to switch to 1 year so I'm not sure if they are phasing us out or grandfathering us in. I guess I better to call in to be sure. Thank you for this clear explanation. I watched Matt Kloskowski try to explain this on an earlier video. He's a great guy, but he managed to get me even more confused by going off on too many side issues. This video was perfect!

I'm glad I could help. You can probably lock in the price but you may not get the 100gb, you'll probably get 20gb.
@margueritelahaye745718 күн бұрын
Thank you, Darlene. I needed help from an Adobe agent after the Chatbot didn't work, but I managed to lock in to the 20 GB Adobe plan for a year. The annual cost was quoted as $155 Canadian (I'm assuming that doesn't include taxes), so right now I'm waiting to see what appears on my credit card.

@@DigitalPhotoMentor People keep saying that, maybe it's true in the states but it's not in Europe, here's a copy paste from my invoice on 2020: "May 20, 2020 Photography plan (20GB) €10.23" Then it went up to €12.29, now the email I got last week said "The price of the Photography plan (20GB) annual, billed monthly plan is changing from €12.29/month to €18.60/month (including applicable Tax/VAT) on your next renewal date. To maintain your effective current base rate (excluding any promotions) you can change your subscription to an annual, prepaid plan."

Sigh. The sensationalism of "50%". It's 5 bucks. smh
@DigitalPhotoMentor18 күн бұрын
But it's still a 50% increase which is significant. Yearly it goes from $120 to $180. That mean more to you?
@BlackZEddie18 күн бұрын
@@DigitalPhotoMentor No. 50% on $50K is significant. 50% on $9.99 is not. I shouldn't have to explain that to you. A title like "Adobe Demands $5 More Money - But Not To Worry", would still be clickbait that you were going for, but, at least some actual and practical truth that it's only 5 bucks.
@DigitalPhotoMentor18 күн бұрын
@@BlackZEddie For you $5 may not be significant but to some people it is. Read the room, all the other commentators are grateful for the information. If it's not a big deal for you then just pay Adoboe the extra $5 every month, in fact, you could give me the same if you have money to throw around. In Canadian currency it's a raise of about $8/month. Is that significant enough to matter? $5 USD is 94 South African Rand, their currency is low value and anything people in South Africa buy is hugely expensive for them. So it might make a difference there. $5 is 289 Philippine pesos. That's a meal for 2 there. So put it in perspective, NOT everyone has the luxury of having $5 be insignificant.
@BlackZEddie18 күн бұрын
@@DigitalPhotoMentor After 11 years of the same price, $5 isn't that much, and, which is literally a moot point because there's an option to keep it at $120 a year. No other company has done that and provides software updates. As a reminder, Photoshop used to cost $600 to $1000 to buy it outright. These days, how many people do you think are going to plunk down that kind of money? What an asinine liberal logic…that if I had $5 to throw around, I should just give it you? That's a pretty childish retort, don't you think? The currency exchange does not matter. No matter what economic country one is at, if they can afford $9.99/mo equivalent, $14.99 isn't that much of a stretch. I'd wager for a lot of the ones complaining about the $5/mo, they'd easily spend at least that much on lattes, cigarettes, junk food, etc, per day, which can easily equate to $150+/mo or $1800+/year.
@stevericketts741418 күн бұрын
@@BlackZEddie yup, it only increases by 50% for those who choose to get billed monthly. virtually every software company charges more for people paying monthly
