Is logo design possible with pencil tool rather than the demon that is the pentool? I don't understand why illustration is so god damn hard , pen tool seems so complicated and soul draining

I've tried it a lot lately and my paths never seems to be as smooth as yours, I played with the fidelity, the smoothness, but i can't get to make nice curves like yours... Can ou help?

Hey, the things you are doing with pencil tool is not the main feature of it. Main thing about Pencil is that you can extend your object's shape. It's more like Blob brush, but it works with points. Check this video: Arthur de Pins: demonstration of vector drawing. And you will see what is the main feature of Pencil tool in illustrator.

everytime i use my pencil it gets back to its default settings. Does someone know how i can prevent this. This also happens with brushes and even my saved brushes disappear if i start delete the layer and open a new one.

Will Paterson Thanks a lot sir. I found a way but if you got a better way i would love to hear it. My way: Make my own brushes and save it. If i do this the brush settings dont go back to the default settings everytime i brush a stroke. The only thing is i have to open/load my own brushes when i open a new document. But hey thats a luxury problem compared to my previous problem. :) Take care
