To make curve in pen tool you can also use ALT button. steps to do: 1. Create your shape using pen tool. 2. Without losing pen tool press ALT. 3. You will see a small curve along with the cursor, when you move the cursor towards the line. 4. Click on the line and make your curve. 5. You can now curve the line using different technique. This really helped me in tracing logos and images. Please give thumbs up if you like it. Love from India..

This is happening in my case too. There is a double line initiating from the anchor point; one in the direction we're moving it & other to the opposite side. That's really confusing. And the other thing is, when I leave it a point, I'll have to double click on the second anchor point to start a curved line.
