Isn't Photoshop for editing photos though?
@JustinOdisho4 жыл бұрын
Yes but his comparison makes sense in that after effects works more like a photoshop of videos allowing you to composite many layers together on top of each other and generate effects and filters whereas premiere pro lets you edit together sequences better horizontally and though it also has many effects and layer options, it doesn’t quite have the power of effects that ae has

Justin, its like you are reading my mind for the type of tutorials I want from you. Keep it up! Also: I would really like a tutorial on workflow from start to finish on a regular edit. Like when in the edit do you add effects, when do you adjust audio, when do you color correct and so on. Im curious on which order a more experienced editor does what. Cheers and ill be looking out for the next tutorial soon

Hi Justin, loving all the tutorials, keep them up! I have a question - I am working on a 3 minute showreel in which many of the clips have a sky replacement. Creating multiple dynamic links slows down the preview process in Premiere severely. Am I best to render these comps out in AE and drop them as flattened .movs in Premiere? What is the best way to go about this?

I use AE mostly and hardly every use premier pro. But it depends on what you work on - if you need more colour correction and sound editing control, premier is useful - for everything else, i use AE (i basically use his workflow backwards - everything in AE, then make edits to video files separately in premier)

i used to use sony vegas... what do u recommend for clips that need to sync with audio? cuz i could put the timeline together in Pr. but the clips wont be slowed down(for example) on small portions of the clip removing the sync created in Pr. does that make sense would i have 2 edit it 1 by 1

Thank you so much for the tutorial! Very clear! I have two questions, which Google couldn't help me with, but maybe you have a moment for it. 1. I make short videos which also include slideshow parts. When I put two photos next to each other on timeline and add any of the video transitions from AP library between them and then remove the transition (if it didn't look nice for example) a part of the first (left) picture on timeline still remains in the beginning of the second one. I tried trimming the beginning of the second one off, but if I use razor tool this part of the previous (first) image still remains there as it was before the cut. Is it a bug, or is there some setting needs to be changed? 2. In AP CS6, when I right click on a clip on the timeline it doesn't have a option of "replace with after effects composition". Also in File - Adobe dynamic link - the only active link is "send to Encore". Why is that? Thank you in advance.

Greetings, likely thanks for your excellent descriptions of these cool video editing applications. I Got two questions and the first one is: Do I have to render projects in Adobe Premiere? Or it can be definitely saved as a video with an included sound? And my other question is: If I have to, how to render projects without losing them sounds? Or even, how to correctly render? I'll sincerely thank you much if you instantly read this comment. Bye-bye!

From what I understand, PP is more streamlined for tying video clips and audio together. It's probably meant for really large projects that have a lot of different shots.
@JustinOdisho4 жыл бұрын
I know this is old but for anyone reading with the same question, editing multiple clips and sequences together - horizontally, with simple transitions, cuts etc is really tedious and not what after effects is made for. If you just try it vs doing in premiere you’ll see
