Outstanding arrange, my favorite from the album. Impeccable violins and guitars. The violin solo is simply amazing, legendary track.

The only thing I feel this is missing is the 80s keyboard/rock organ that was replaced by the violin. I love' Jindo's composition of strings but after so many songs they all start to sound the same. Some variation wouldve been nice, such as notes to the original instruments in the Felghana orchestrated ost.
@pedreiva Жыл бұрын
To be fair, Jindo is the one who arranged the entire Felghana soundtrack. The use of the strings *is* variation for this track and gives it that "modern Ys" feel. If anything, the bigger problem is with the whole album's song choices. Making an album of some of the most iconic songs in each game is great, but Jindo has already done what he wanted to do with most of them years ago. And it shows.
@barbrozenblum4588 Жыл бұрын
@@pedreiva I feel you. A lot of the songs have some weird segments that feel weird simply because Jindo doesn't want the songs to be rerecords, so he pushes himself out of his comfort zone to do a weird time sig/bpm switchup or include random instruments that might not mesh well. A little jarring, especially in this song

And here it comes. The legend. TBH there is a bit of unsatisfactory combustion at around 0:40, and the guitar in later stage becomes a bit stale. But all in all a banger nonetheless.

Not sure how i feel about this. Hearing about what a tyrant Mieko Ishikawa is, and how she's responsible for the problematic music direction at Falcom, makes me feel like Jindo is being forced to arrange her old compositions out of guilt, or even worse... fear of losing his job. Im sorry, but the mistreatment of Jindo makes me lose all respect for Mieko Ishikawa and turns this beautiful interpretation of an old (clunky/outdated) falcom into a bittersweet listen for me.
@quinceymorris2595 Жыл бұрын
Falcom likely chose the tracks he was to arrange (hence why they seem to be more popular songs within the franchise, a few of which he's already arranged before), but I doubt Jindo's job was at risk, Falcom still values Jindo highly and he's aware of that, them refusing to work with him would be a bigger loss for them than it would be for Jindo. That being said in cases like these I prefer to separate the art from the artist, despite Ishikawa's questionable decisions in regard to Falcom's music, Valestein Castle (and the soundtrack to Ys 3 as a whole) are fantastic and representative of Falcom at the height of its music ingenuity. They should be seen as history to live up to, not to resent.

@@hyperspacejelly Don't know the exact details but the jist of it is Ishikawa got promoted to some executive position and it's said a lot of her decisions are responsible for Falcom's diminishing music quality over the years, as she doesn't believe it to be a priority for Falcom.
@NoName-lf9fk Жыл бұрын
@@hyperspacejelly the tldr is that she's still the big authority in sound team and the singa situation is more or less her choice. so with how declining falcom music quality in the past 7 years, it can be said it's attributed to her for not choosing internal composers but instead choose an incompetent outsourcer and outsource 50% of music to him
