Technically it was Etho's decoy task since his real task was physical and potentially really obvious. (Such as a 1 on 1 interaction or anytime he is expected to move as part of the conversation)

In a normal conversation this isn't hard, especially since Etho isn't Mumbo levels of figgity, but as soon as he is expected to move and can't it draws a lot of suspicion. (I know Lizzie and Grian figured him out, not sure if anyone else did before the hand in. Lizzie didn't call him out mainly because he was letting her use his nether portal.)

@@silversamm i think the task on both of theirs should have included that they could not out each other and any attempts at guessing it would be invalid. it's meant to be a race, whats the point if you can just out it, I'm sure the task would have been very easy to guess if you could do that and focused on making your opponent lose rather than focusing on winning it yourself. its a well made task, I like it, cleo was 100% in the right it's not stealing, but it definitely should have included that they could not out eachother.

Unfortunately the way this series was built only makes the hall monitor problem worse than it usually is. The way that things can be vague or interpreted in different ways paired with the reward aspect makes people want to make sure nobodys taking advantage. In their defense I think most of them are tweens. They don't realize that they're stressing people out they just want everything to be fair

No, she's in the clear because she said steal and not convince. If we're going to guess about intentionality, then it seems more like it was intended that the other person would be yellow specifically so they could guess. Maybe it was just written weirdly but they already know the yellow players can guess so there's no reason to warn against talking to yellows in the task unless it was a warning about the other racer.

I think the intent of the task was for the yellow person to be able to guess it. Cleo wasn't being subtle at all about her task. BUT her racing buddy felt it wasn't in the spirit of the task to end it, and so guessed wrong on purpose. Or possibly guessed wrong on purpose to make sure Cleo didn't just camp the turn-in with a yellow name to ensure a returned task-failure in kind. Very much like the book task alluded to at the end of this video, nothing in THAT task specified needing to vocalize their actions, but the participants clearly were mentioning it aloud to ensure "fairness" that the task didn't require, because they're nice people.
