Courting is a 16hh, 7-year-old gelding by Yes It’s True out of Time for Romance. With an adorable face, a sweet and willing disposition, and an injury-free background, he is sure to win you over. Courting came to the MMSC after having spent a few years in training at a hunter barn. His owner’s board bills became too expensive, so she decided to move him on to a new home. He’s a solid 16hh and the perfect age for any rider, with enough maturity for younger or less experienced riders but enough youthful energy to be competitive in any discipline for many years to come. Courting has been taught to go like a hunter with a very steady, methodical pace. He loves jumping and will take the big spot to a jump when he sees it with no hesitation. We’ve been doing some cross country work with him as well, which he loves, and we think he would make the transition to eventing easily.
Courting is comfortable spending time in a stall, but he loves rolling in the mud outside as well. He currently lives with our mare, Saint Kris ’11, and he does very well with her - no studish behavior or herd bound behavior. Kris is the boss of their herd of two, and Courting is happy to let her take the lead. He has previously been turned out with 4 other geldings and found himself in the middle of that pack. He has jumped a 2’3” oxer at the MMSC, clearing it with plenty of room to spare, and we have ridden him bareback as well. He has no vices and would be suitable for a beginner rider with a trainer or an intermediate rider.
