I had trouble with petsmart too! I gave them the application which they said they would fax over to the shelter my kitten is from, and then I called them to double check. They told me it was all set and I would hear back in a few days. I called the shelter, to find out that they never received the application. They called petsmart who said they had no idea who I was or what the application was. Thankfully the shelter was amazing and let me go through with the adoption and held the cat for me until I got the application in for the second time!

That same thing is happening to me at the moment at my local shelter. I sent in an adoption form for a cat named Xavier, they said they'd let me know if it got accepted the next day, never contacted me, checked the website the morning after and he was no longer available. And again, I am now looking at kittens, I handed in the adoption form 2 days ago, I visited them that same day, the lady I spoke with told me there had been no applications but ours handed in as of yet, and today I check again to see if they were still available and 3 out of the 6 cats were adopted, 2 of which were possible candidates for my family. I still have not been contacted at all (I specifically told them to let me know anyways if the application was declined), and I reached out today through phone and email to get more information, and still nothing. It's just so infuriating.

Funny story about petsmart. One day me and my dad went to petsmart years ago when we still lived in the city and the lady (kinda old) was helping us look at the kittens. She started asking us questions and we mentioned we had two other cats and that we let them go outside and stuff. She immediately went against my dad and I forget what she said but it was clearly something nasty (I was much younger) and holy frogs she even told the other girl not to sell us any cats. I was so pissed because we just wanted a kitten and we aren’t stupid enough to let her/him outside a day after we get it Whenever we got a kitten we would enclose it in a small room just to get used to being in that place first, then with assistance I would watch it explore around making sure it didn’t try to chew on any wires or such. Like wtf petsmart

If you're talking about a cat, they naturally know to go to a litter box to do their business :) So, they're born potty trained

I looked at an animal shelter website and chose a kitten that I wanted to get, by the next day it was adopted. same with the next two, THEN I adopted a 2 year male cat but we had to give him up because he kept on escaping. Maybe this time it will work out!

Really nice to Adopt and don't knock Petsmart to hard here. Speaking of hard you need to teach your daughter to soften up on the petting, way to hard. Unless money down usually it's first come. Enjoy your now a cat.

I don't like adopting cats or any baby animals, or adult animals with babies, because your just pulling them away from there family. So the only way I'll adopt if I can get the whole family, or I'll adopted a baby or adult if they had no kids Or parents

I would never get a animal from petssmart or petco or anything like that because it supports animal mills! You should only get cats off the street or at a animal shelter or a cat on the death row but never at a store!!

the cats at Pet Smart or PetCo are from shelters. But the hamsters, mice, Guinea pigs, etc are from pet suppliers.
