Adoption- the early years

My name is Imelda Doherty and I am an adopted child, a wild teen, a confused adult and a resolved older adult.
I am here to create a video journey of my experiences of being adopted and how those may or may not have shaped the years that followed.
In this latest video I am sharing my reality of the closed adoption process that was in place when I was born in 1973's Ireland.
I share my thoughts on how close I came to being a casualty of the Tuam baby scandal where 9,000 babies of unmarried mothers were murdered.
