The water in front of you is most likely Puget Sound--get on a Ferry at about 6 or 7 PM-to Bremerton, and just ride over and come back and you'll get a gorgeous sunset, then seeing the city lit up at dusk--just beautiful! You can walk on, or drive on--if you have time to explore over there, go on the ferry and there are lots of things to do, and around every corner is a picture postcard view! But just going over for the ride is really worth doing. That view you have is gorgeous--that's Puget Sound with the Olympics behind it--snow covered peaks all year. Watch out!! The sun there will fry you! I live in San Francisco and am in the sun a lot, but I always get burned when I go to Seattle! It stays light till 10 or 11 PM! But watch out for the sun--and there's water every where you go, everywhere you look! It's a great city--have loads of fun!!

Mark Smith True! If anyone is going to Seattle I always recommend they take a whole day--at least--to visit Bainbridge--my absolute favorite place! And often if it's rainy in Seattle, it's sunny up there! But I doubt they'll have a whole day, or even a half day to sightsee! So in an hour and a half, you get a lot of bang for your buck by just riding over and back--the city lit up at night is just breathtaking! And most people have never been on a drive-in ferry--just seeing how the whole thing works is also interesting! Plus there's a ton of space to roll around on that hoverboard!!

Cindy Pickering Actually if someone has a whole day for exploring on a ferry I'd recommend going up to Anacortes & traveling to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. i used to partially go there for great breakfasts @ Downriggers, but that place is still rebuilding from their fire for another nine months or so. I just did the ferry from Sea to BB Island today, and then drove up to Port Townsend over to Whidbey Island to Mukilteo, and had a great time w/ my out-of-town guests. I highly recommend this route!

+Mark Smith BEST TRIP EVER!! My favorite trip when I go to Seattle--we ALWAYS go to Bainbridge --whether from Seattle to or from Mukilteo and back the other way! Never once in 20 years of going up there did we encounter rain on our trips to BB! And everyone we've ever taken has been blown away! Lots of parks, unbelievable views--Deception Pass!! And grab yourself some fruit and cheese and have a picnic!! It's definitely THE thing to do when you go to Seattle!!
