As a photo 101 instructor I know that everyone learns a different way and at a different pace. I've just emailed all my students to begin viewing these. Mark Wallace is understandable, the script doesn't go in circles and, uses an accessible vocabulary. Thanks!

then you should know that the iso story with digital photography is worthless. (Digital) cameras do not have iso. Film does!

@@ridderus ISO is the international standards organization it's a name the same thing as was ASA. It's a meaning of sensitivity onto film or sensor equals the same thing. Hi ISO film results in hi grain no different to high noise. Basically kept to avoid confusion.

@@ridderus The organisation is actually IOS. The word Iso comes from the ancient Greek 'isos', which means 'the same'. The goal was that for instance Iso 100 is the same for Canon as it is for Nikon

Appreciate Video clip! Forgive me for butting in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you thought about - Zetanniay Visionary Preset (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a smashing one of a kind product for creating stunning photos in minutes minus the normal expense. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my close friend Aubrey got amazing success with it.

I've been in photography since the age of 9 or 10. I've heard it explained every witch way. The way you explained it is very simple and easy to understand. Awesome job.

I started taking pictures when I was 6. Then I learned to use a manual camera that involves shutter speed and aperture when I was almost 14. So I've known about this since almost 14. But this is a very nice way to explain it.

This is one of the best explanations of the 3 elements of picture taking. I just bought a camera and was looking for an explanation of these elements. I really appreciate his explanation of what is the most important one to set first. It depends and that was a big help. Thanks

just got my first camera and have been watching so many videos, this guy knows how to speak to beginners. I feel like a lot of photographers have been doing it so long they still speak with technical terms and leave me with more questions that I began the video with

Thank you for the detailed explanation! It was really easy to understand. I just bought my camera yesterday and spent a couple of hours thoroughly researching the basics, but this video really sorts the basic information in a neat and digestible way :) So happy I stumbled upon it!

I’m a self-taught photographer and this video is amazing. Great way of keeping it technical and specific without over-complicating anything. This is a huge help! I've always used Auto, the lazy way, as I could never keep f-stops and aperture and shutter straight, only the ISO! LOL Thank you very much for actually showing the difference, really stuck in my head! I love the simpler way of breaking it down!

Great explanation as someone like me who has no solid idea of what these terms actually mean. I ran through heaps of readings and explanations but but i didnt really grasp what exactly they are until I found this video that helps me understand in “common terms” LOL thank you so much:)

Very good tutorial as usual ! Mark doesn't make the same mistake other photography teachers do and say that raising your Iso lets in more light. It doesn't. Iso is not a physical parameter like shutter speed or aperture.

Jack Mahoney I purchased my fist DSLR 15 years ago and shot on automatic. When it came time to upgrade a few months ago I decided it was time to learn what S, A, M, created a picture. My advise is to practice taking the same shot using the different setti

I accidentally sent before I finished. After I take several picture of the same object at the same distance and focal distance using shutter priority, aperture priority, and Manual mode I will upload the pictures and try and guess the shutter, aperture and ISO settings before I right button from the mouse to see the settings of the picture. It is helpful if there is movement in the picture for shutter priority.

Thank you so much for your precise explanation. I was struggling to play with exposure triangle. Sometimes pictures come as I have expected and feel happy about that but other time it does not work as I expected it to. I am bit more clearer after watching this video.
