Man it's crazy, so many athletes do stuff like out of pity or an image. There's never truly passion, as soon as they do their good deed it's just any other day. What Adreian Payne does transcends further. They share this bond which is unmistakeable out there. He truly loves her, and finds strength through her, and she the same. That is something so special, which I wish we witnessed more of in sports. Such a heartwarming story. I hope Lacey beats cancer, and their friendship lasts a lifetime.

Lacey passed away just about an hour ago. This is a very sad day for everyone from her parents and payne and others. Now being a MICHIGAN fan, I have always supported Lacey and her relationship with Payne. She will be missed and I bless her and her parents for doing everything they could to help this sweet little girl. Lacey saved Adriean from being a different man. For being a Spartan fan since 2004 (Football and Basketball) this was probably the best player that could have been a nobody or even worse a criminal. Lacey saved Adriean and touched his heart. A lucky 7 year old who should have been Hero of The Year!

For anyone questioning the sincerity of this - one of the coaching staff is my ex-wife's uncle. We were all caught up in this, and when he called me to tell me she died, he could barely speak. Spartan Nation loved this beautiful girl - I just wish every child in a similar situation had that kind of support.

When I saw this story hell I am 32 years old and I was tearing up hard because this was not a friendship between a little girl and a basketball player no no no this was Family Lacey calling her her big brother adriane her little sister this is like when mike tyson loss Cus D'amato decades ago. Lacey last appearance was that college 3 point and dunk contest last week. Now late last Tuesday with the Ultimate Warrior who passed away the same day as Lacey and lacey just like michael Jackson song Gone Too Soon.
