I had surgery with Dr. Carling on October 2nd. While it is taking me a little longer to recover but i am close to 70. My care was great, I am off 3 of the 5 bp meds already. Many of the symptoms of Cushings are going away. My local endocrinologist poo-poo'd my symptoms and kept giving me more meds. Very grateful for Dr. Carling and his team.

I’ve been dealing with this for years now … can’t control blood pressure, constant unexplained anxiety, missing sleep from frequent urination, feeling weak and tired, all of it. Wasn’t until I had a hypokalemic attack at my daughter’s graduation and had to spend her graduation ceremony in the hospital being titrated (watched on my phone and missed her graduation ball) that a doctor at Georgetown’s hospital asked me if anyone had ever checked me for a problem with my adrenal glands, that my (new, better) primary care doctor took it seriously. So after a lot of tests it seems I have an adenoma and highly likely all of this is due to that. Then I started looking into the top adrenal surgeons and lo and behold the best of the best was at Yale, so I started looking into setting up a consult. Except the best of the best moved to Tampa … where I live. I am pleased. See you soon, doc.

Hi, I had very similar symptoms to you, went on for years. My drs told me it was anxiety! I had numerous tests, eventually diagnosed after complications with my digestion tract. I had extremely high Aldosterone levels, finally diagnosed with Conns syndrome. Nobtumour seen on scan, treatment is medical. However the long lasting effects of this have left me with complications 😮.

@ I’m sorry to hear that you are still dealing with the damage from this, I hope you eventually fully recover. I hate advice - but the best thing about advice is that you don’t have to take it! - but there is another test that can sometimes identify which adrenal gland is the offender (assuming it’s just one). They can perform venous sampling which might identify the source. Some radiologists are not skilled in ordering the right scan or finding the adenoma so it’s still possible they just missed it. Good luck!

@philipmarsh3522 Hi, the endocrinologist here in the UK checked my scans , done twice, both adrenals normal sized. My aldosterone levels were sky rocket high, so I am being treated for both overactive adrenals. Bp is fairly stable, unless I am stressed, potassium is normal now. But I have all the other symptoms still going on,anxiety, digestive issues, muscle aches and extreme tiredness, thirst etc. Endo thinks I've suffered undiagnosed for years!
