one thing I love abt XG is that they really require us to have hip-hop literacy and they just don't let us be like "oh Y2K flow~" but they literally make you listen to the classics from that era. They even pick up songs that are kinda lowkey now and show us they are actually fire. that I think is a form of their true respect.

Some people might not like this comparison but XG’s rapline reminds me of BTS’ rapline. BTS was never afraid to address the haters and their cyphers go hard. I don’t know if any other bg has done that but BTS did it the best and the rawest that’s why they won over a lot of hip hop fans. Seeing XG doing something similar in their own way is so iconic. Hands down my two favorite groups
