Amazing we are all in this growing up phase and new wisdom to all of the new things happening right now. We all knew something was happening but just could not figure out what it was. We are all waking up at so many levels and personal epiphanies at different levels and stages. I am in my late 40's and obviously knew and know of Adrian and Crimson. I just listened and re listen to 1981 - 1984. I have been binge watching Belew's work with all of the stages of his career. While I was listening to all of the others, I missed Adrian. Incredible guitar player. So different than any out there. I am enjoying this new discovery of the work. The future is bright.

In reality if you listen well fripp is different from belew...no better...different is less blues and melodic to Adrian...it isn't worse or better is a different style...he's got more influence by classical and asian / europian folk music...I love them too...I don't choose...crimson must change the line up to take their spirit...the latest is a great band...but I hope they'll do new material...in the spirit of the king crimson...sorry for my english...

He influenced everybody practically, all modern guitarists are aware of his ground breaking guitar work. For sure he did influence Vai through the Zappa connection but i think that Steve Vai was actually more influenced by Eddy Van Halen. Funny, when I made that comment, I hadn’t seen him again until recently. I saw him at a festival, playing with what I considered some random band. The band was amazing though with an incredible horn section and two women singers. I can’t even remember the name of the band, but Adrian was lead guitar. I was grinning ear to ear because the people who went to the show were pretty much there to see the band, but I was there to see Adrian. He slipped in some King Crimson I think I even heard lone rhinoceros riffs in their music and I felt like I was the only one who noticed. It was amazing.

Yeah, you would think that? But I went with a large group of people and those people didn’t know who he was. They were a much younger crowd. I also socialized with a lot of people and said wow Adrian Ballew was great wasn’t he and they were like who? It was strange, but it was a very small festival. Anyway, that’s not saying much because younger people these days are listening to music like K-pop…
