So interesting to see Mannarino's quality from this point of view. He is such a tricky and deceptive player. It's incredible to watch him play against those with more offensive capability/firepower; the way he is able to absorb pace and create angles, coupled with his off-pace, flat shots is very special.

It’s crazy how much power Mannarino generates off that style groundies. Deceptively dirty game.

His new percept racket is from yonex's control line. His previous vcore 95 was from yonex's spin line. but his strings are more powerful. He also has recently done a lot of fitness training with Karue Sell (of MyTennisHQ) and the difference is noticeable. MyTennisHQ put out a good video on it on their page.

this is one of the best showcases of mannarino's odd, low pace counter-punchy playstyle, really puts into perspective just how unorthodox he hits the ball and constructs points

The body mechanics of his shots are deceiving, he’s on offense 2/3 of the time in these rallies, giron plays the role of the counterpuncher here, his shots aren’t slow in comparison to giron

I am a begginner trying to learn how to play, could you please explain to me what he does different? Is it his forehand too flat?
@knotwilg3596
@knotwilg3596 10 ай бұрын
@@igormorari380 Hardly any takeback or body rotation on the forehand. Mostly forearm and wrist. He seems to have adopted this "bad technique" due to injury. Most of the power he generates comes off the opponent's incoming ball and his extremely low string tension. That requires an enormous control and feeling. He also clears the net by a very narrow margin. That again requires a lot of spatial precision. Not one to copy for sure, but it works for him! Look at 8:55, where Giron plays a low soft incoming ball. Mannarino can't generate any power because he has no leverage.

Mannarino has a unique style - he doesn’t over hit or under hit - he keeps the ball in play. But he has the right angles and is lefty, so his serves are effective and he can finish with volleys, not to mention that his fitness level is very high. His vocalizations are also distracting and give his side the appearance of control. He’d be a nightmare for someone who lacks patience. Giron has a power advantage and stayed in each point.

From this angle, you can appreciate how annoying Mannarino is to play against with his constant low balls, even though he wasn't in his best form here. And when he floats any shorter ball, he pays.

Mannarino is an incredibly tactical player who plays an extremely precise counterpunching style. His playstyle is often overlooked as lame or lacking techniques, but his excellent redirection and absorption of pace compensates for generating power of his own. With that being said, he is hella lame to watch and I never watched his game unless it was someone else beating him.
