Sermon Overview
Scripture Passage: Romans 2:1-8, 16
In Romans 2, the Apostle Paul reveals how God handles hypocrites, specifically addressing those who were indignant at the sins of others, and indulgent in their own.
“Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things…” (Romans 2:1).
Hypocrites will be judged according to the truth, so there will be no disguise. Today, we see truth being exchanged for style and sacrificed for comfort. But no performance or pretense will fool God, as truth is His standard.
Hypocrisy comes from within; a hypocritical heart believes that outward appearance is all that matters. If hypocrites can appear righteous, they believe they will be seen as righteous in the eyes of God.
Adrian Rogers says, “God doesn’t look on the exterior; God looks at the heart.”
Hypocrites also believe that if they do not have trouble, they are right with God. But we know our blessings are not merited by our behavior. God gives us blessings to bring us to Him, to lead us to repentance. Delayed judgment does not mean no judgment; God waits until the time is ripe before He judges, and we will not escape His judgment.
Hypocrites will be judged according to their deeds, without distinction. As Christians, we are not saved by works, but we are judged by works. We will be held accountable for our actions and attitudes, as well as for our advantages.
Finally, hypocrites will be judged according to the Gospel.
“...in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel” (Romans 2:16).
Adrian Rogers says, “If the Gospel does not save you, the Gospel will judge you. The same Jesus who wants to be your Savior will one day be your Judge if you do not allow Him to save you.”
The Gospel is a two-edged sword that will either heal or slay. It reveals everything we try to repress and hide, and often, the judgment of the hypocrite is harsher than that of the heathen.
Apply it to your life
Knowing the dangers of hypocrisy, are there any areas in your life that you need to confess and repent of? Pray and ask God to examine your heart, so that you can identify your struggles and live authentically and truthfully.

What an awesome message of Truths. I proclaim the Blood of Jesus is what is bought me back from the strong hold of sin death and hell. Christ Jesus, It is His completed works on His cross, His shed Blood is what the Father used to Reconcile all sinners / the world back to Him. Jesus died and suffered, bleed and died for all the evils of this world, for all we had done and or will do. Repent, strive to walk in the light of GOD's written word daily. Lord Jesus, heal me, cleans me through your blood, deliver me from my own life long life of Hypocrisy, deliver me from all my transgressions, things I should have never said. From long forgotten things out of my past. Work in me a Christ like heart like yours, I confess I am sinner, and that Grace alone is what is our hope in You, I want to surrender my all to you this day: Grant me a Heart of love and compassion for all of our fellow man. Thank You lord Jesus, I pray for your continued grace and mercy to bring me Home to you. To be washed in the Blood. amen.

Lift the Standard of TRUTH! Hallelujah 🇺🇸🙏 In God We Trust. A Nation Divided, We Are Not. The Bible is the Word of Truth. We are set apart to do our god-given calling. This personal relationship is between you and I, my Lord. I have no desire to join hypocrites, or anyone hating your principles and standards. Waiting on you Lord, is my confidence and safety. Your goodness and mercy follows me in bad times and good times, leading me to repentance and thanks giving! Your unmerited favor is upon all who read and do your will. Lord, we all must examine ourselves, returning to you, alone. Pride comes before the great fall, in all individuals and leaders in authority, who have left your judicial decisions . They will not get away with their Nimrod demeanor, escaping the judgement of God. Lord, I am in great fear of your mighty judgement and power, according to our deeds, as your citizens. Being born again, walking according to your will, doing your work. In Jesus name. Amen 🇺🇸🙏

If I'm searching myself for hypocrisy, I have to look for lies I have told myself, and believed. I must look for excuses for my shortcomings, and my selfishness. Excuses for my vices and my slothfulness. Excuses where I put forth little effort, and say it is enough. This deals with hypocrite putting out a false image to the world. I need to deal with the lies I tell myself.

@@puregameplay7916 Nope. I was a sceptic even when I was very young. When my parents told me about God, I told them I was fine with pretending Santa and the Easter Bunny were real, because that was only for a few days a year. I wasn't going to pretend that God was real. I came to believe in God, not because of what anyone else said, but because of what I read in God's word. God describes humanity honestly, and I have never found another source that would do that. I don't let anyone force any ideas on me. I'm the most stubborn person I know.

The short answer is yes. Think of it this way, How do two people that aren't married to each other end in up in an affair? It begins with a thought, and because they didn't check that thought when they had it the devil began his hold on them right then. We have to always remember that the devil is THEE adversary, and very cunning, while it may not happen to them the first time it does mean that one day that person will be ripe for the picking, if they don't confess to God and confide in him. This goes for all sin and for all of us. Sorry that was so long, but I hope it makes sense. I tried to simplify it, I would ask a pastor or minister that you trust🙃😊

If the only thing preventing us from committing a sin is worldly consequences, and we betray in the spirit, then we are still traitors. Someone who's heart would commit to an act of betrayal disregards the harm it would cause their spouse. Devotion and commitment don't live in that persons heart. When devotion and commitment don't exist, then that person lacks the love that they claimed to possess, when they made their vows. I don't think that noticing someone is a betrayal, but fantasizing about someone else would be. Someone devoted and committed will sense betrayal in their hearts, if they fantasize about it, and scorn the fantasy. They'll realize that fantasizing about someone else will make their next embrace with their loved one shallower, instead of deeper. True love won't abide with that.

Imagine genuinely believing that a "god" powerful enough to create all of existence, would for some reason only put life on one planet, and then decide that, even tho its omnipotent and all powerful, it for some reason needs us to worship it. So it gives the life it created free will, but then damns them to hell for an eternity of suffering if they dont use that free will to worship it? Also it waited for millions of years of human evolution before deciding suddenly 2000 years ago to send its "son" to earth to die for our sins, that he gave us free will to commit? The idea of god was originally ancient mans attempt to explain our existence, but was then used as a TOOL to oppress and control rising populations in each corresponding kingdom. Various religions formed, but all around the idea of a "god" that awards faithful worship with eternal bliss, and punishes "evil" people who break the law and tortures them for all eternity in hell. Pretty much a foolproof way to control your populations while also going to war against cultures with different religions and actually justifying it as what "god" actually wants. You're all a bunch of fucking tools that were brainwashed as a children into a belief system that is based on geography, not faith. Also dont respond with "scripture passages" as the bible is a man made TOOL religion uses. It was written by some brown middle eastern guys. You fucking morons actually believe that jerusalem had white people named paul and mary and joseph and shit 2000 years ago XD XD XD
