THE ROOT OF BITTERNESS: Have you ever been bitter about someone or something? Bitterness blows out the candle of joy and leaves the soul in darkness, keeping the people of God from having the power and holiness of God needed in their hearts and lives. Join Adrian Rogers as he looks at God's word to see how to battle this enemy of joy.

How to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
ADMIT YOUR SIN: Sin separates us from God. The Bible says, "All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) The only way back to God is through His Son, Jesus Christ.
ABANDON SELF-EFFORT: If we could save ourselves, Jesus didn't have to die! Salvation is by God's grace alone. "For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)
ACKNOWLEDGE CHRIST'S PAYMENT: Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for your sins. "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) Jesus died in your place and your sin debt has been paid for by, "The blood of Jesus Christ." (1John 1:7)
ACCEPT CHRIST AS SAVIOR: Put your faith in Jesus Christ and Him alone for your salvation. Receive Him by faith. The Bible says, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." (Acts 16:31) Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no man cometh unto the Father but by Me." (John 14:6)
OFFER THIS PRAY TO GOD TODAY: Heavenly Father, I'm a sinner, I'm lost and I need to be saved. I know I can't save myself. I trust You to save me. Come into heart, forgive my sin and save me. I give you my life, I don't look for a sign or ask for a feeling; I trust only in You to save me. Begin now to make me the person You want me to be. Help me never to be ashamed of You. Thank You for saving me, Jesus. In Your name I pray, Amen.
If you sincerely make this your heartfelt prayer, God will save you! And you will be eternally grateful that you discovered Jesus Christ; God's greatest Love worth finding.

I always wondered how a God who knew everything could forget our sins. Then I found out. I had some friends who backstabbed me and I hurt so badly. God kept reminding me to forgive. It took awhile, but I finally realized how God could do this. When I forgave my friends, I never ever forgot what was done to me. What I found was the memory was still there, but the pain was no longer there. So, God can forgive and still remember. But His pain at our sin have been removed. Thank you, Father.

I got in a big fight with my husband this morning, somewhat of a pattern lately. I prayed to God on the way to work to soften my heart and my husbands heart and to strengthen us and bring us back together. I found this video on my commute and listened to it. The spirit has revealed to me that I am a bitter person and I need to forgive and give grace. Glory be to God in the highest. Thank you for your teachings.

Wow I’m listening to this crying because I was full of bitterness and didn’t even know it. I knew something was wrong with me and people kept saying it was unforgiveness but it was actually bitterness. The root of Bitterness was a generational curse on my father side that led to early death. They all harbored hurt. They were also bitter in many ways. I thought the issue was pride and self-righteousness could feel the bitterness coming up and out of me. I can be ungrateful at times. I was very harsh and held grudges and I didn’t even realize it. That’s crazy. I had so many mood swings. So even though I didn’t have all the fruit I had some. WOW

@@sandraraper7465 I learned from Adrian, if you go along with something thats wrong just keep your job, lifestyle, family fed, insurance at a company that will force you to comply to worldly demands. You're as wrong as those you work for. That's the breakdown in "PRINCIPALITIES" Only you know if you done that. I'll tell you this. I'm homeless. I live in a 1996 Peterbilt. Psalm 139 is what I have been praying. Only God can truly reveal our heart to us and He also gives the solution. Bitterness is something that can take a hold so fast, any resentment held on to, and reviewed over and over again. Any unresolved hurt that we don't give to the Lord, festers in our heart, destroys relationships, and destroys us. Praise God, we don't have to stay like this. Healing comes when we give it to Him, when we find bitterness will cost us everything, relationships, health, peace.

That's terrible advice, @fortis6258 God's plan is not divorce. He can work any marriage out no matter what the problem is. The problem lies within us, our pride and unwillingness to forgive our spouse. Turning your marriage over to God and allowing him to work in your heart and your spouses heart is the best answer.

John Bunyan and Charles Spurgeon have been gone for more than a century and yet you can read their words today and be cut to the heart or enlightened to more of the goodness of God. I observed that some people can be unaware that bitterness has entered in. Sneaky demons waitin' hoping to get inside gradually. When hatred enters (is as murder, the word of God says). Some bitter, angry people know they hurt you but will not apologize. Forgive them anyway, but you dont have to necessarily keep company with them.

I realized recently that it's a luxury as a human being that scripture gives us permission to forgive and forget WITHOUT an apology or reconciliation from the guilty party. God doesn't afford Himself this luxury because He will carry the pain and agony of unforgiven sin for the rest of eternity. No matter how much suffering it brings Him, He will never allow Himself to forget the harm that others have done to me until they come to Him and sincerely apologize. I used to hate scripture telling me to forgive, but now that I understand it in this way, I really appreciate it. I'm so glad God gave me the grace and mercy to let go of my anger and bitterness. 😢

When someone imagines you hurt them, you dont need to apologize for something you didnt do. That person been in bondage (history of). Acccuses, and holds onto something imagined, needs deliverance and healing).

A good example of why we know Jesus IS The Word of God. Only God could have inspired this to be written down in the bible.

I’ve always had a preference for dogs. But there is something relaxing about watching a cat play or sleep, or watching 2 cats talk. For me, anyway. Some people hate them 🤣
