I constantly repair speakers. I was winding a coil with simple handmade machines. I will use this now. It has not been released manually. But we solved it easily. We have made great use of the video. We solved every function with trial and error method. Nice machine. $ 550 + taxes + fees + warehouse customs clearance company = $ 992 (from China, Turkey) was more than $ 120 -150. There are taxes in our country. They also see this kind of machine as import. It is not ordinary order. Tax costs are more. If it used to be $ 550 + taxes would be $ 660. Still, the machine is good. Worth your money.

I bought one of these last week, thanks so much for making the video! *I designed an arbor shaft in CAD and 3D printed it.* It seems to work well so far. One challenge I have is that I wind a lot of interleaved chambered transformers using 42ga wire on the secondary. I haven't figured out how to program the machine to wind, move a few mm to clear the chamber wall, wind some more, etc. I also use fairly huge spools of wire, which has proven challenging as far as wire feed, tensioning, etc.
@BradKwfc2 жыл бұрын
I'm glad the video helped. When I bought mine all I had was one in Chinese and no manuals. For the interleaved transformer you probably have to make a program for each space and make sure auto home is off. 42awg man that is some tiny wire to work with. I did 36awg once before I had this machine,I used a mini lathe with a step counter rigged to it. Needless to say I'll never try that a again on a mini lathe. You can also get tensioners for this machine on ebay and other places. I feel like they are overpriced so I never bought one.
@mikeSGman2 жыл бұрын
I also use 42 gauge, big spools. I’ve had problems with it. Put it in storage 4 years ago. Hoping to look into one of the better tensioning systems for it as it seems to be a great unit. Did not like the manual tensioner but other than that it’s awesome. To your point, looked on eBay and they are massively overpriced right now. Fingers crossed something else comes out that is less expensive. The tensioner is pretty much the same price as the actual unit.
@mattportnoyTLV2 жыл бұрын
@@mikeSGman I sort of solved the tension issue by turning the 42ga spool vertical and sitting it on a flat surface below the feeder. The wire unwinds off the spool like a sewing machine. I’ve been doing it this way for months with no problems. The Dude Abides.

Exactly the reason why I bought it. I used to wind all my coils on a mini lathe and that got old really quick. It used to take 30 minutes to an hour or more to wind a 3,000 turn coil, now I can do it in just a few minutes.
@h2opower2 жыл бұрын
Okay after working with this for a day now I noticed you made a mistake as the width is for the wire's actual diameter and the number of turns you plan on laying down in the given space. Example if I have a 0.18mm wire and I plan on putting down 40 turns per layer the total width will be 40 x 0.18mm = 7.2mm. This is where the designer of the bobbins comes in as when designing these bobbins one must take into account all of these things prior to moving to the coil winding machine. So far I can't seem to figure out how to program it to automatically wind up slotted bobbins and have to do them manually but at least I can do it now. Oh, I'm winding bifilar coils with this machine as I made a modification that allows the machine to wind bifilar coils as it's a must with Meyer's latest bobbin designs that he came up with before his passing. I'll make a video of me winding one bobbin slot as I haven't anything to hold the camera. Once I have this latest transformer all wound up it should be a go for this technology but since it is a prototype mostly I'll be gathering information on it's performance as I fine tune things for the Water Fuel Cell that I have.

Wondering if the FUNction button is related to separating the primary and secondary coils with tape? Someone else suggested the FUN switch might be related to using a computer interface. Interesting you got this way back in 2018 or so. I'm just looking at it now, lol. I've been winding these multispool bobbins by hand and now that I've started using a very fine wire I can no longer see what it is I am doing. I wish you would work with me on this as I cracked the science behind this technology and am now ready to push this technology into the marketplace but to each his own I guess, sigh. Anyway Once I get all the last bits of the things I need in I will finish what I started way back in 2006. I will have to figure out how to wind these multispool bobbins with this machine and modify it a bit to be able to wind Bifilar Wire. But I did just check with the company I get the wire from to see if they can make the wire I use into parallel bonded wire for me and am waiting on a response from them. I can feel in my heart this will be the year this technology finally makes it out of the box those that wish this technology to never see the light of day have put it in🥰. I had to lean this technology in steps but getting at the actual science behind it was the most important step to solve as now I know exactly what this technology is and is not doing. Not sure if you go on OverUnity site much but I have posted a lot of things I am doing now on there in my old, "Stanley Meyer Explained," thread. It turns out this technology is on the expensive side to get working correctly and there simply is no way of getting around that.

@LiamKimball-d4q I think size wise it could handle 200mm, but you'd have to have the bobbin over the edge of the table or have spacers under the machine. I'm not sure about the software, though. I've never tried winding one that large, and it's in storage right now. I'm sure it can do irregular geometries you'd just have to average out the dimension so it thinks it's round in order to get the correct number of turns.

Thanks for this helpful video. One question; As you might know, when the two windings of a transformer have the same number of turns, it is a common (and good) practice to wind both windings together by winding a pair of wires (rather than first winding one of the windings with a single wire, and then winding the other winding with another single wire on top of the previous one). Do you know if this machine supports this scheme? I mean does it support winding a pair of wires around the core?

Honestly I found that using large area washers and nuts work better. If you wind alot of turns the bobbin will warp, so I found it best to clamp the bobbin in place using the washers and nuts. If you put a threaded rod on yours like I did just get some nuts and large area washers for it, you'll get better results that way especially if the bobbins your using have thin walls.

The smallest I've done on this machine is probably 32AWG. I've never broken any wire so far. It should do 37AWG without any problems as long as the spool its on is freewheeling.

@@BradKwfc I am winding #40 on mine with no problems using a free standing dereeler. The spool sits on the table on end and the wire feeds off the other end up through eyelets and on to the winder from there.

How do you think this will work with .03mm (.001”) wire. I have a bunch of real tiny electro magnet coils I need to rewind and it’s crazy thin wire.
@BradKwfc2 жыл бұрын
.03mm is the smallest wire this machine will do according to the description. If you get it all setup right I'm sure it can be done. With wire that small don't expect them to look well and be uniform.

do you know the lowest pitch setting (or the smallest wire size) this machine can go?!
@BradKwfc5 жыл бұрын
I think anywhere in the range of 18AWG-40AWG is what the machine is made for. If you go smaller than about 26AWG you'll need a different wire guide or you can clamp your own nozzles in the wire guide. That's what I did.
@pepticon5 жыл бұрын
well I'm thinking about using the machine for guitar pickup, which mean I mostly use 42-44 awg wires. some modification on wire guide & bobbin mounting would be necessary. it wouldn't be a problem for me. but setting on pitch travel would be something that important for me since I'm gonna need it to set up certain turn per layer. on some listings, description said the machine could handle down to 0.03mm wire, so that would be somewhere around 47-48 AWG. much finer wire than what I usually use. but then, I'd rather listen to first hand experience first than only believing what stated on seller description, especially for seller from China 😂
@BradKwfc5 жыл бұрын
@@pepticon I just set mine up for 1,000 turns at .03mm, worked great. Also, I even tried to do 1,000 turns @ .003mm. At first I thought it was not moving but when I put my scale up to it it was working perfectly. So now you know, this thing would probably do 100AWG. I had no idea it was that accurate.

@@BradKwfc thanks a lot for the input, I think I'm gonna try this machine. also, I just noticed something earlier. apparently, this machine is a copy of one of Geo Stevens! previously I had some feeling that I'd seen similar machine from popular winding machine brand, so I browsed some reputabable brands and found exactly the same on Geo Stevens line up. I'm sure whoever made this on China, copy it 1:1 from Geo Stevens, the Chinese has reputation of doing it 😂 so, with Geo Stevens design, I'm not surprised if the machine can do such accurate job.

I haven't used a tensioner on mine, I know you can buy on that will work with these though. 48AWG man that is tiny. You'll probably need to buy some nozzles for something that small also.

@@BradKwfc BradK Hey! yeah exactly! rectangular bobbin, not cylindrical shaped. Based on your comment and video, I just ordered the same machine just now from Ebay for 599usd 🙈 so thanks for your upload and answer! Could you by any chance show the process of creating and mounting an rectangular bobbin coil on your machine if you got any spear time next time you make a rectangular coil?😁 would be awesome! I wonder on your bolt that you have mounted in the rotor axle is it also cutted so it not completely round with only the threads on the bolt? or was it just to simply get the threads smaller and screw the bolt into the axel? Kind regards Nerv
@BradKwfc5 жыл бұрын
@@coltx64 On the bolt I cut the head off and cut the shank down (the non threaded area) on my mini lathe to a smaller diameter so it would fit on the machine. I'm in the US where everything is in inches-if your able to get bolts in mm sizes you can probably find one that will fit without having to cut it to a smaller dia. I have a 3D printer that I use to make custom bobbins, I make inserts to fit into the rectangular bobbins with a round hole through them so that they are centered on the threaded rod. 3D printers are cheap now days and well worth the price. I bought mine for $125 shipped, it was broke but I fixed a few things on it and its worked great ever since. I have seen the same one (nearly new Qidi X-one 2) on the local classifieds for $150. You can use tinkercad (free software) to design and print your own bobbins. Much easier than waiting for them to come in the mail.

By the way you don't know any where one can order custom made bobbins in the meanwhile? I really appreciate your comment on all this! you already have helped me out alot!😊😊😊 Kind regards Nerv
@BradKwfc4 жыл бұрын
@@coltx64 You can use Tinkercad online for free, that's what I use, very simple. Watch a few tutorials here on YT, really easy to use. You can hit one button and it will add points to select where you can center a part inside another (such as a hole in a square or rectangle). I've designed 10 bobbins or so on there and printed them and they all worked great. I like printed bobbins better now because I can add a flange and a channel where my wire will go then use screws and ring terminals for connections. You can print the bobbins in one piece but you have to use 'Supports', basically it prints a thin area to fill the blank space so that the upper flange of the bobbin can be printed when the bobbin is printed vertically...Once printed you simply pull the supports out with a pair of pliers. I have found Cosmocorp has a huge selection of bobbins and they will give samples for free, you just have to pay shipping. Used them several times, not sure if they ship outside the US though.
