Tip no.2....and looking straight into the eyes (but not for too long, though!). Great video.

I know exactly what you're talking about. Your body language can give it away if you're not confident. Also, the handshake thing I learned in corporate a long time and has stayed with me for so long. I make it a point to give firm, full handshakes!!
@AdrianaGirdler6 жыл бұрын
YES! So glad to hear that. The corporate world is a great place to learn a solid handshake, haha! You definitely need it there. Thanks for sharing about your experiences! Cheers!

My Dad is a business owner and he taught me a very early age the importance of a handshake. I can tell you - it really does make a difference when you walk into the room and put your hand out to greet someone.

It totally does! It's great that your dad taught you the value of a solid handshake - good for him! Maybe he should be making videos like this too, LOL. Cheers!

Great video Adriana. I actually found that time, experience and taking on responsibility is what has helped my confidence in my job. I agree what you say though, how you are and behave will send clear message to others

Gaining experience definitely helps increase your confidence naturally. The longer you're at a job and the more experiences you've taken on, the more confident you'll feel there. Sometimes when you're just starting out, it can be hard to find that confidence! Thanks so much for watching, cheers!

These are great tips! Another I’d like to add is grooming and hygiene. It may seem like a no brainer but you’d be surprised.. dirty fingernails, body odor, unkempt hair, unflattering clothing, bad breath, etc.. all these can really decrease your self-confidence and also decrease the likelihood of people wanting to work closely with you. Take some time to groom and take care of yourself, and not just your body but your internal health too. I know when I’m looking good, smelling good and feeling good on the job and hair is on point, my confidence is through the roof, and it even enhances my focus and performance
@AdrianaGirdler4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, I couldn't agree more. Grooming and hygiene is really important. When you look good you feel good and that can only boost your confidence and then in turn your productivity. Thanks for your comment and for tuning in, cheers!

Aaaaahh what a cute panda!! Also, great vid, as usual :) Body language can definitely communicate a message without you ever opening your mouth. When I was a lot younger, it was pointed out to me that I often stood with my arms crossed, closing in my body and closing myself off to others. Since then I've been very conscious about posture and body language.
@AdrianaGirdler6 жыл бұрын
Haha, thanks, I love filming with the panda!! I'm glad you learned that lesson about body language and that someone was willing to point it out to you so that you could improve it. Understanding the message you're conveying through your body language is so important! Cheers!

What if you had undiagnosed medical brain issues like ADHD or depression that made your job performance eventually suffer due to how extra hard you had to try to meet expectations and so your boss or coworkers thought you were stupid so you got bullied .. and when you quit no one was there to teach you how to get back on the horse. ... I'm 29 and have never yet had a full time job. I panic or sabotage so bad and Ive considered Suicide.

Hi Lavender. Thank you for watching and reaching out. I would suggest to anyone who is feeling this way to reach out to a medical professional for help. Wishing you all the best.
