I would NOT tell the adult child that there is a saving account because it takes away the respectability of care for the baby in the long run. However, i would still save money for the baby and the only time i will tell them is when the baby is 18 and is going to college.

I agree. Why even bring it up now? Wait 18 years. It will save a lot of arguing.

This lady wants to make a person ,”see the light”. News flash, regardless of your intentions, ppl do whatever they want to do, and will change only when they hit some sort of rock bottom. Preaching to them from the Bible is commendable, but your best option is to pray for them and wait until they get an awakening.

Sometimes when adult children go bonkers they are actually pulling back the curtain on the actual quality of the parenting they got. This lady might be okay but you can't tell in a couple minutes on the radio.

I disagree with Dave that this lady should tell her daughter and this cult leader that she's not leaving any money to them in her will.that really serves no purpose and they have no business knowing what is in her will anyway

Thanks for all the advice. I'll keep watching your videos as a reference for life skills because quite frankly my parents haven't taught me anything about anything and they've never been involved with anything in my life. I'm an only child and I have had to learn a lot of lessons the hard way, but I somehow manage to scrape by, but I have always wanted to try to do a little better than just a scrape by. I was told to move out of my mom's place at 17 after graduation from highschool because she didn't want me there anymore because in her mind as soon as highschool is over you have to leave and rented my own apartment, got my own government student loan (paid it off myself too) and went to community college and graduated with 98% and earned a diploma in office reception and medical assistance. I paid my own way without even a moving out card from either of my parents. I have had to work to buy anything and at times it's been really hard and have lived on cereal many times but I think you're right when things are just handed to you like some people I know those people never seem truly happy and seemingly don't really appreciate it or understand the significance of all the things they've been given, whereas people that haven't had that type of life show the most gratitude and have better survival skills.. so I suppose that's silver lining in my life. Anyways Im rambling now, I just basically to put a long story short wanted to say thanks for all that you do.

How can I biblically extort my child to do what I THINK is right? I don’t know how these people live, but as long as they don’t ask you for your support, it’s none of your business…

The system shouldn't allow it. Able bodied people need to work. I've had stage 4 cancer for 5 years and still work part time . I finally accepted medicaid bc I probably won't get back all the social security I paid in.

Set up a trust fund for the grandchild - you can have it pay out so much per month/year, with the child unable to access the principal to whatever age you choose. Let the daughter and son in law make their own decisions.

You just can't help people that don't want to be helped. My 28 year old brother wanted my advice on buying a used car from a dealer. He was convinced his Honda was a lemon. Turns out that is possibly damaged by the dealer that did work to it. He had a full, bumper to bumper extended warranty on it that would have put an engine in it. He sold it to carvana and has proceeded to call my parents and I multiple times over the last 2 days freaking out about the decision he made to buy a 25k used car. Luckily he had 30 days to return it, but when I told him car payments are the death of wealth building he said that he's not trying to build wealth... he just needs to buy a car.

To assume "our indoctrination is better than theirs" because it's not what one may personally practice is foolish. It's all BS (belief systems)

Sorry that neither of you understand biblical marriage. Nothing about having to have a state license to be married in the bible. It's ignorant of tons of marriages in the Bible. Go with Jacob for just one example... he got married on accident sleeping with the sister of the woman he wanted. Obviously nothing about vows and such there or that wouldn't have been possible.
@droptozro
@droptozro 8 жыл бұрын
That's irrelevant. The state does not marry, God does. Homosexuals will never be married despite whatever they delude themselves into believing. Point is, the couple got married by God. I don't know this for sure but I have a feeling this mother in law is skewing things from her point of view. My wife and I went off and joined a church farther away at one point and family members had all sorts of unfounded accusations about the other members and the pastors.
@BassPlayer60134
@BassPlayer60134 8 жыл бұрын
Dave would advocate marriage being both because the state aspect provides legal protections that a merely spiritual contract couldn't enforce. You may be right about the mom, there could be a bias.
