I’m so glad there are more current video’s like these on AOSD. Hopefully more people will be aware of the symptom’s and get diagnosed sooner than some of us who it took year’s. This is a very accurate and informative video. Thank you!

I was diagnosed 1 year ago and was terrible before the final diagnose I really though I was gonna die with 41C fever and intense pain in my joints. They changed me of hospital 3 times. Finally a diagnose and today I take injections everyday. I live with symptoms and my liver is affected. not easy! I also live with Hashimoto disease and Vitiligo. all autoimune disease.

So now what treatment is going on
@gilessteve Жыл бұрын
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's and also suffered from chronic joint inflammation. As an experiment, I stopped consuming any foods that contained wheat. The joint pain disappeared within days. It's worth trying an elimination diet as many chronic diseases have a dietary cause and this fact is not always appreciated by the medical profession.

@@ameeqnoonari9968 I would, but it's not really practical. I'd have to eat gluten again and I'm not going to do that.

How do Auto-inflammatory diseases differ from Auto-immune diseases. Isn't the immune system utltimately responsible for all inflammation?
@StrongMed Жыл бұрын
That's a great question. As a very general rule, the mechanism of autoimmune diseases is the body's production of antibodies which are mistakenly directed against parts of the body itself (i.e. "autoantibodies") or less commonly auto-reactive T cells (i.e. T lymphocytes which mistake the body's own tissues as a foreign microorganism), whereas autoinflammatory diseases act without evidence of either autoantibodies or auto-reactive T cells. Few diseases are purely autoimmune or autoinflammatory, but rather many more exist on a spectrum with manifestations common to both those categories.
@MrEthanhines Жыл бұрын
@Strong Medicine so if understand correctly it's possible for the body to be in a state of inflammation that didn't occur as a result of infection however it may take the immune system to bring the inflammation under control for instance IL16? Am I at least in the ballpark? Ps, if my choice of words seems peculiar, it's because I am suffering from post Covid-19 Sequelea, and my verbal verbosity has reduced significantly/can't effectively communicate

Please can you do a deep dive on "wear and tear" arthritis of the hip. Conventional doctors just say wait for it to get bad enough then have a hip replacement! My mother is young but her hip has got so bad very suddenly that she cried with pain. I'm desperate to help. The doctors give no advice on diet, fasting, body muscle to gat ratio, exercise, gut health or supplements etc. I feel taking high strength painkillers daily then other medications to mitigate the negative side effects of the painkillers on stomach and then layering that with advice to have a biscuit or toast doesn't seem to promote overall health. Pain management at any cost on full body health and quality of life.

_''The doctors give no advice on diet''_ - I think you're close to answering your own question. Many chronic conditions are the result of dietary factors.

Can it be triggered by higher dose flu vaccine?
@StrongMed Жыл бұрын
There are a small number of case reports of AOSD following vaccination for either influenza or COVID, but given how few cases of this there have been, and the billions of people who have received these vaccines, it is not known if there is a true association, or if these reports are random coincidence.

I was actually at peace with Still's disease for 14 full years but flared up nastily again after the c-va*cine in August 2021 and the first covid infection in April 2022 when there was not yet an antiviral med around against it. Maybe the miracle drug Tocilizumab was also going towards end of its life. It is in sum difficult to determine causality in this. Stay tuned, time is for us! New drugs are being flushed on the market.
